Bro he can catch , preseason doesn't mean poo,, just watch cpl of games this year and you will know why we kept him hell he might just catch the 1st TD vs Broncos

I like the guy. All he has done is catch passes when he was on the field last year. 

He has a great work ethic also.

He probably is the best blocking TE on the roster , I have seen Olsen, Dickson, & Tolbert  whiff on same blocks.  Far as passing goes he just needs more opportunity and actual game plan to showcase his skills.

I don't know if anybody else was paying attention, but Simonson blocked better than Lucas from what I saw. They are not about to put a TE in the game who can't protect there MVP QB. It's just not gonna happen regardless of whether he can catch or not.
