Regarding Norman: they will get a nice compensatory pick for him, he was leaving anyway, and they would need to look for a replacement next year anyway.  Cutting Sanchez isn't the end of the world.  Time to move on.

We won't know that until the year is over, because we only get that pick if we sign fewer free agents than we lost, and that calculation goes on for a while.

I think Sanchez was just too small at the end of the day.

We normally don't keep more than one nickel, which is why I thought it was odd we insisted of putting Bene there after drafting Sanchez.

Plan A was Boykin, then the comp. pick issue arose.
Plan B was Sanchez, then Bene got more time at nickel.
Plan C, of course, is Benwikere

This could also be a direct result of Marlowe's injury, they may keep a fifth safety in lieu of a fifth CB like last year.

Praying to God that your GM is a failure is such a bad look.

Not praying for him to fail, I just know he's a mediocre GM at best who's looked at as a god around here for having Cam Newton as his qb. If he were here before Cam, he wouldn't have drafted Cam and we'd be the Blaine Gabbert show. Or maybe even the DA show, I know that would make a lot of people here happy.

See for me, the amusing part of that post is the notion that he'd still be watching the Panthers after Cam was gone.

I was a fan long before Cam got here, and unlike you my life and fandom doesn't revolve around the huddle. Hell I've never even seen you at a tailgate or a game.

I also think Gettleman is a great GM but you are delusional if you think having 2 players in the top 10 of the entire league at important positions already on the roster when you take the job has nothing to do with it. Not to mention having a great coaching staff for developing players which was also in tact. Most GMs don't walk into a situation like this. They are building from the ground up. That's not bashing gettleman just keeping it perspective.

yeah i don't get it either and that's the main thing about this move that tweaks me

our depth at CB looks like complete poo right now

Well, I try to look at it rationally and answer the question in front of me: Why would a GM cut a draft choice at a position of critical need?

There are two possible answers: (1) The GM and coaches are dumb or (2) The GM and coaches don't think he's worth the roster spot at a position of critical need.

I think answer (2), being the most likely, tells us that DG and the coaches don't think Sanchez would make any meaningful contribution to the team this year against other teams 1st string WRs.  And, by cutting him, will hopefully get him to the PS and sign a CB that they consider more ready from other team's cuts.

So what if he's a mediocre GM (I don't believe he is)? Who cares? Why is the need to prove that he is such an important part of your agenda?

And I have no idea what you mean by saying he wouldn't have drafted Cam. That's just stupid.

You've been proven wrong... like a lot. Care to make a wager?

I really haven't. Remember when I said D. Hopkins would have a better career than Star....

Remember when I said Steve Smith could still play....

What do you care to wager?
