Most people here know I view Gettleman as a mediocre GM who has benefited greatly from having guys like Cam and Luke already on the roster. And no, that doesn't mean I want Hurney back. The biggest difference in the rise of this team in my opinion is:

40% the evolution of Ron as a coach

25% the evolution of Cam as a qb

25% the rise of Luke

10% Dave

i also believe Norman would still be on this team if he were drafted by Dave

His 2013 and 2014 drafts were excellent. He signed a mediocre safety to a dirt cheap contract and watched him turn into a pro bowl caliber player, TWICE!! Signing guys like Ted Ginn, Michael Oher, Joe Webb, and even guys like Cotchery when he was here. Finding guys such as Philly Brown, Andrew Norwell, Mike Remmers, Ryan DeLaire, and even Jeremy Cash to a lesser extent.

Oh yea, and since he has taken over, we've won 34 regular season games in 3 years, have 3 division titals, won 3 playoff games, and have been crowned the NFC champions once. Oh no but he's a mediocre GM.

Damn, you hold a grudge as long or longer than your guy #89.

Some of y'all are tripping thinking that Gettleman is a mediocre GM...

We are the NFC Champions...draft picks don't automatically make the team when you have depth...

I'm shocked Sanchez didn't make the team but it happens...Gettleman and Rivera thinks they have better on the 53...and I trust their judgement...

there isn't a team in the league where a GM that has a good measure of power over the draft or signings (including contract extensions) is only 10% responsible for how a team performs.  it's funny because, based on three years of reading his posts, i'm sure aceboogie thinks gettleman is overwhelmingly responsible for anything and everything that's gone wrong since he's been here.  so he gets credit for something i suppose.

so basically we're the seifert 49ers if this is to be believed.  so long as we get the hardware i'm not going to cry about it.

All this talk about "that's what happens when you have a deep team" is really confusing since we are absolutely NOT deep at CB.

Sent from my iPhone using CarolinaHuddle

yeah i don't get it either and that's the main thing about this move that tweaks me

our depth at CB looks like complete poo right now
