I don't think Coples was 1/10th the talent of Peppers. Seems Coples only virtue was size.

Peppers was a special player. He's virtually a lock for NFL HOF.

Coples was a solid player at Carolina. They had a lot of NFL talent coming through there (some against the NCAA rules lol) but if you look at it now, not a lot of those guys have panned out. Quinton Coples, Donte Paige Moss, Dwight Jones, Greg Little, Marvin Austin, Kevin Reddick, etc.

Robert Quinn is obviously the real deal and one of the best DE/pass rushers in the NFL. He, along with Marvin Austin and Greg Little, were also having impermissible benefits passed to them on the side by an assistant coach with NFL agent connections. Their actions (or at least getting caught) really hurt UNC football for a couple years and we are finally starting to dig ourselves out of that hole.

Quinn may go down as one of the best football players UNC has ever produced in the NFL, but Carolina also sent him a cease and desist notification and he along with a few others can no longer claim any affiliation with the school or program.

I thought Coples was going to be a very good player in the NFL, but like I mentioned earlier he just hasn't lived up to expectations just like many of the NFL prospects UNC was getting while Butch Davis was here.
