What happened to Quinton Coples??

The Hurricanes hold the record for most players selected in the first round in a single draft (6, in 2004), most first-round draft picks in a two-year period (11, from 2003 to 2004), most first-round draft picks in a three-year period (15, from 2002 through 2004), and most first-round picks in a four-year period (19, from 2001 through 2004).

For a 14-year period, from 1994 through 2008, the University of Miami had at least one player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, a NFL Draft record.

Ah the good old days. Unfortunately, even I must admit that Miami has not been great in sending talent to the NFL lately. What's that? You guys were talking about UNC? Why?

:)

Yeah, I grew up in NC too. I give my friends grief over the games, but once the players get drafted it really doesn't matter anymore.

Thats not true at all.  Its just as fun to poke fun at what happens in their pro careers.  Being a Duke fan I get plenty of trash talk about my guys long after their college days

Not from me you don't, and especially if it was the Panthers who drafted them. That's why I don't get the Tre Boston hate. The guy is a pretty darn good player for a 4th round pick.

I'm going to disagree.  We are talking about a safety.  His job is to make great decisions and be very sound in his technique.  He is totally inconsistent and whiffs on the regular whether it be a tackle or in coverage.  I wish like hell he was a good safety but it doesn't look like it thus far.  No doubt in my mind he has the physical tools though.

I really don't understand how people have been able to come to such conclusions about Boston when he has never even been a starter yet. I haven't noticed as many whiffs either, especially in coverage where I'm never really sure exactly what his job was anyway. Unless you're a coach, how can you know?

I don't think Coples was 1/10th the talent of Peppers. Seems Coples only virtue was size.

Agreed. The comparison was a lazy one at best by the talking heads. He reminds me more of Kony to be honest. But really just has a horrible work ethic.

Im not claiming to be a scout. Its a very tough position to play, especially with all of our zone looks.

Thst said, ive noticed plenty of big hit whiffs and he many times is a step or two behind his guy when covering deep.  Sure he could start playing at s high level this year and I hope he does.
