The punting situation this year has been a debacle. You know what would saved this organization from a headache and from having to waste a 4th round pick on a punter? Just re-upping Jason Baker's contract. Lee is better than Baker, but he's not 4th round better.

I look at it as swapping punters and the #32 pick in the 4th rd with the #1 pick in the 7th :3

All these arm chair gms acting like they know what their doing when Gettle not only took a 7-9 team to 12-4 a year later, but ultimately has made the Panthers one of the best teams in the NFL over the past 3 years. Not like we went 15-1 and made it to the superbowl last year without our #1 WR. But yeah, lets listen to the guys who watch the Panthers 3 hours a week on Sunday.

Absolutely could not be more wrong. 

But it not worth the argument. Just an embarrassingly uneducated comment "punter is the least important position on the team". Shows how little you know about special teams, consistency, field position, football in general.

thats the most untrue statement ever.  The panthers play field position and the kicking game is crucial to that.  having a decent punter that can pin teams back is an advantage for carolina.  Is the 4th a bit high, of course, but Gettlemen did what a Gettlemen had to do.
