1st time starter or not he's better physically then the shell of Peyton hobbling around in Santa clara...maybe you should change that to if we let Von Miller wreck poo again because that's what it boils down to

At least losing to Peyton has some merit behind it.

We historically struggle against first time starters.  Why? Because no tape on him to specifically game plan against. It's more of a game plan against Denvers system. Also, this is the same team basically that beat us last year with Peyton Mannings arm damn near about to fall off.

The Denver D-line is diminshed form the Superbowl with Malik Jackson gone. He almost has to be double teamed.  Also Ware is a ? mark at this point.  But Von Miller is still Von Miller and he basically won that game by himself.  The teams that can man up are going to give us trouble.  Especially those who man on the outside and "bracket" Olsen.  Most teams can't do that, but Denver is one of the few that can.  FYI that's what New England was doing as well.

I think we will win just based off of our WR play being better, but not if we get all the drops and overthrows we saw in the New England game.  Will be interesting to see.  However if we can beat that style of defense ( I'm not worried about the defense per say, except against division opponents), then I don't know how anyone can beat us at that point.

So I think we'll all be disappointed if we do lose based on a few things:

1. If we are unable to correct the mistakes from the Super Bowl - dealing with the Blue/Green Blitzes and delaying Von Miller.  Denver's Defense is still quite good, especially their coverage guys with their pass rush.

2. If we make a bunch of dumb mistakes.  We know the rookies are going to have some moments, but we need to eliminate the ST penalties, offensive dum-dums (false starts, holding, PI), and we need to run the ball effectively.

Look, if he Siemian goes crazy and completes 80% of his passes, guys keep getting one handed grabs, and otherwise have plays dropped on them (you know about the game of inches part); what can we do?  I expect us to be a winning team, to win more games than we lose, and to do so with style.

Sometimes, it just isn't your day (ah Super Bowl).  I would hate to start the season out that way, but if we do, we do.

Even the shell of Peyton is still smarter than any QB in the league. yes, his arm was toast but he still could read defense and put his team in positions to win. Siemian is not at that place yet.

If we lose to Sieman week 1 it will be because of the exact same reason we lost the Super Bowl and that will be disappointing. We still have the more talented team and if we get out-coached in 2 straight games I will be very disappointed. However, I will not let week 1 dictate how I think this season is going to go.

If Siemian lights us up, we are deep sh*t.

Peyton has seen every type defense, every type blitz or zone scheme imaginable so comparing with Siemian whose making his first start is pretty ludicrous.

IMO we are gonna be able to run the ball on them and control the game for a dominant victory

I still believe we beat the Broncos by 30 week 1

Let me start by saying I think the Panthers have an excellent chance of winning.  I'm not counting this as an automatic loss for the Broncos, however.  I believe this will be a close, hard-fought game, and the Broncos excel at winning those.  They set an NFL record with 11 wins by 7 or fewer points last season.  The only team in 19 games last season to post 30 on the scoreboard against the Broncos was the Steelers, and they had a lot of help from the Broncos offense.

I have no trouble with Panther fans predicting a win, but believing they will put up 30 points, let alone win by 30, is delusional.

Meh, we might lose.  Thursday night. Opening night in Mile High Stadium. Broncs are raising the banner.  We are starting a secondary that ranks near the bottom of the league.  The crowd will be insanely loud giving Von an extra step on our OTs.  Our guys will probably be sucking wind due to altitude.  The Panthers aren't walking into a bed of roses to watch soft porn on their smart phones here.

How are we going to run the ball?  They were basically run blitzing in our traditional run formations, they didn't need to do outside contain because their DE's were eating up our tackles.  Stewart averaged 2.4 yards per carry. The only person who had success running was Cam.  The only person they needed help with as far as coverage was Ginn.  Everyone else got manned.  I think we are going to win, but dominant victory?  I'm not sure how you come up with that.

Yea but simion can give the old head nod to dermarious and throw it up as far as he can with a rookie in coverage and it'll be a hell of a lot further than anything Peyton could muster...I'm not saying the sky is falling I'm just saying this game Prbly ain't the blow out gimmie that some people are predicting. Its gonna be a battle and we need to bring our A game or the direct opposite of what happened earlier this year
