Unless Rivera was outright lying to the Press, he insisted clearly that he did not bench Cam for bad performance.  Just as New England went Garropolo - Brady - Garropolo, Ron insisted that they always planned to give DA a series in the 1st half.  They wanted to see him with most of the 1st team Oline, plus CAP and Daryl Williams.   He said it was a scripted, planned thing.

Anyway, that's what he said,  Can't vouch that it is true...
