Kaepernick makes statement during National Anthem

Honestly, I don't give a rats ass about what he does during the national anthem.

I take issue with you acting as if him doing so is on par with him running into burning buildings and saving helpless children or something. That logic is fuging horrendous.

Where did I say that? That's right, I didn't.

Within the struggle for true justice and equality, everyone plays their part (or not).  Everyone can't be everywhere and do everything.  Speaking out on issues of injustice takes a certain amount of courage for anyone, much less a professional athlete that is well within the public eye, and not immune to the craziness of racists everywhere, much less those who are in positions of power to effect pocketbooks. There is no courage in being silent on injustice. Most are because they are afraid to rock the boat, are beneficiaries of the status quo, or are just plain apathetic or even ignorant (meaning they don't know).

You act as if he has done nothing, which is your right, but thankfully others, including his colleague's are more supportive. Like I said before, professional athletes---like it or not---have a bully pulpit, whether they decide to step up to it or not. Some of them can even be looked upon as America's version of royalty or nobility in this country.  If you don't realize it, or even want to recognize it, then that's you. Like I said, everyone plays their part, whatever it is...or not.

"Golly Gee did that colored boy criticize the flag and the good ole boy nation of the USA by using his FREEDOM of speech, send that ungrateful piece of poo back to Africa. He should be grateful his people were even enslaved to be apart of a great nation like this"

That's really how some of y'all sound. But I'm going to let y'all have it lmao, not going down this path with some of y'all today.

You all have a great and safe weekend. And KEEP POUNDING

I'm sure there are some racist morons in a comments section somewhere making insanely ignorant remarks.

Personally, I don't get into the whole ultra patriotic stuff. Colin could burn the American flag at midfield, and then take a dump on the smoldering remnants, and I wouldn't care.

Just don't act like him doing so is actually really changing any lives for the better.

The fact is, you (nor anyone else) don't know how his stand may effect someone's life for the better, so stop acting like you do.  Just like I always tell my kids and others whom I have come across in life, you may not change the world, but if you can just have a positive effect upon one life---just one---your contribution, whatever it is, can have a prolific impact upon making the world a better place.

lol at the "the players love it!" narrative. Everybody in the Bay area and their mommies knows that Kaepernick is the most loathed player in the Niners locker room. The guy is a raging douche and a terrible QB who felt the nation's eye slipping off of him. He carries no respect within his own locker room and needed to be seen as representative of something, so he tried to exploit a truthfully small but divisive issue to his personal benefit.

He's just another attention whore whose jimmies get rustled on the 4th of July hearing about the great actions of great men because he knows that he isnt considered one of them.

Oh it's okay for you to speculate or make the assumption that he is surely going to make a broad positive impact on other lives by sitting on his ass, but it's not okay for anyone else to do so? You are arrogant as hell.

What does this have to do with arrogance? Whatever, Red. You get your jollies by putting others down. That's just how you roll, and I am getting tired of it.

You made the thread sir.

If you can't handle differing opinions, don't hit the "create thread" button.

And surely when I hit the "create thread" button, I knew that there would be differing opinions, but you didn't answer my question, and as always you want to make it about me, or me being arrogant, which is stupid.

How about you actually substantiate your claims that Colin does such continuous and admirable charitable work, and brings steady change to local communities.

I mean, other than turning his hat sideways, and literally talking poo to his own fans on social media due to his own jackassery of wearing another NFL teams gear out on public, I haven't heard of much.

Did I say that? No. I know you can't have that much of a problem with reading comprehension.

Didn't want to bother addressing that last bit huh?

I can see why not. That would put a bit of a dent into the choir boy/political activist narrative you've been peddling in here.
