Players who hurt/helped themselves (game 3)

Luke, TD & Funch were the stars of the night, but their spots were never in question.

Cash & CAP probably helped themselves, Mucas & Webb too.   Mayo continues to impress.

Redfern was better than I expected except for when he outkicked his coverage.  But I'm pretty sure we'll still be looking for a punter.... Scifres obviously is gone.  It looks like he's hurting pretty badly.

I thought Bradberry & Worley were not too bad.  There was so much else wrong that any mistakes they made were not the headlines tonight any way.

Worried about how totally out of synch Cam & KB were.  I think we'll definitely be keeping 6 WRs at this point, especially with Philly's injury.  Byrd &  Bersin look to have those last two spots sewn up.  Norwood didn't impress.

Our coaches have a lot of evaluating to do, and tonight hasn't made it much easier.  Instead of answers, we've got a whole bunch of new questions.

As I tweeted a little while ago, the one bright spot is that any complacency for our 1st team O has now been utterly destroyed.  They coasted a bit too much in games 1 & 2 I guess, made it look easy.  tonight was a wake up call.  I think Greg's absence was a much bigger deal tonight than we realize.  I'm not sure our attempts to really upgrade at TE have yet borne enough fruit to show up on the field just yet.  We really need to hope Greg gets / stays healthy.

I understand the need to get KB back up to speed. But funchess needs to be the primary wideout target right now. He has the hot hand and can up his game with more opportunities. Forcing the ball to KB isn't gonna get us nowhere. He needs to be eased back in at a slower pace. It would benefit him to be a 2nd, 3rd wide out option right now. But maybe this could just be for pre season to get him going again. I just hope we dont go into Denver trying to push the passing game threw him.

While I agree KB looks a bit stiff.  Cam made some bad throws.  He was off terribly last night.

that interception was Cam's fault  Had he thrown it down the sideline instead of bringing him back in the field.

That would have been a great play probably a TD.

Think tre Boston was supposed to have over top help on that Bene play. At least it looked that way.

Looked that way to me, but admittedly I think that Tre Boston is a great young man but hot trash as a safety. I hate how he is always lowering his head to try and lay the wood rather than wrapping up. It's why Blount was able to make a highlight reel hurdle over him, and why he tends to bounce off of players since he's not exactly Kam Chancellor swole.

People get excited because he's on the edges of the pile. I'm furious because he's very rarely in the pile.

Really, really hope that we can sign a vet SS.

Demotions: Remmers. Bersin. Fozzy. Dickson. Simonson. Klein. Boston. Bene. Worley.

Promotions: DWilliams. Byrd. Garrett. CAP. Lucas. Mayo. Witner lol. McClain. Sanchez. Cash. Hawkins.

Get'em Gone: Jacobs. Colin. Foucault. TWilliams.

Get my man McClain back in the starting lineup? Boston scared to lay the wood? Remmers cost us the SB? Klein needs more tackling drills? Worley not ready to start? Bene gets beat deep when jamming at the line? Bene is strictly a nickel? Ben Jacobs value overrated? Colin jones no longer needed? Bersin dissapears when we play good teams? We should respect Lucas as a receiving te? Are we giving Hill a fair shake? Garrett does have a chance to make team over bersin/Norwood? IDK YOU BE THE JUDGE

I can't recall a true vertical route by KB that has ever worked out.   It seems like the only routes that work with KB are slants and plays over the middle where he can body guys

Here is the deal---the OL gave Cam all day to throw, but we were not open much.  I saw about 5 or 6 dropped passes, most killled drives.  This loss is on the WRs and TEs....

And Cam's accuracy issues did not help.  Blame part of that on Benjamin not knowing his routes/reads.

If we give Dickson a jersey, I will be pissed.  Sure he drops passes, but he sucks at blocking.  He is a waste of money.  I am disappointed in Sandland--if he would just block somebody, he would have a job...Too much to ask, apparently.  For example, he was at FB and we ran ISO--he stopped in the damn hole to find his block and was knocked backwards.  Nice.

I am not sure that we are not looking for a punter after last night....Redburn (or whatever) was inconsistent.  He was booting 60-yarders and then 35-yarders.  That is terrible for special teams trying to get a bead on the ball.

HELPED:

CAP--ran better than Stew, minus one run.

Funchess--Will be our top WR.

Short--Pay the man.  He is the best DT in the NFL.  Stuffs the run, pressures the passer.  What else is there?

Mike Remmers--putting distance between him and Williams.

HURT:
Boston---watch this game again and see how often he misses tackles---I think he may lose his job this week. SIgn Whitner, move Coleman back.

Worley--disappeared in run support, was not effective.  Do not be surprised to see Bene, Bradberry, and McClain to start the season.
Wegher--that third-team OL is no help, but Wegher looks like a beaten man.

Sandland--first Gettlemen draft pick to be cut?

    • We can't afford to reach for one of the first round QBs this year. I would love for nothing more than Bryce to be the reason we don't even scout the bastards
