My problem is that I think Coleman is a star at FS and Boston is formidable with flaws.

Move Coleman to SS like we have done and you have a good starting SS..but now the Tre/Kurt combo has a glaring weakness in regards to run support and speed. Luckily, our front 7 is awesome but adding a SS rotational piece would be ideal.

Good point

Yeah not sure how you can say a former multiple pro bowl safety isn't going to have every opportunity to come in and start for us. Coleman moves back to FS, Whitner at SS. Boston sub packages.

Boston has proved absolutely nothing as of yet.

Curious as to what Whitner has left in the tank. Boston has some potential but not sure he is the answer just yet. I hope the boys in the office can make this happen.

He got burned against Seattle multiple times in 2014 playoffs. He had a 15 yard personal foul for unnecessary roughness in the 4th quarter vs the Broncos.

He knocked the ball out of Sanders' hands, something that was written about being taught by veteran presence Roman Harper.

How'd the safeties do against Wilson since then? Regular season, Roman Harper got beat by Jimmy Graham like a drum for 140 yards and Coleman gave up the bomb TD. Playoffs Coleman got beat for two deep TDs in "don't get beat deep" situations.. So, by my count Boston (as a rookie) has given up 2 TDs to Wilson and Coleman has given up 3.

Since 2014, 8 games w/ Boston got majority snaps, 7-1 record, 15.7 PPG, 1 team scored >20 points  (26 tackles, 3 INTs, 1 sack)

Lots of national guys think someone signed (if he's signed) will be a starter with the season two weeks away. I can't...

Fact is we only have two more safeties on the 90 (7) than we kept last year on the 53. Four of them are injured, and Colin Jones is mainly a special teams guy. So, two healthy safeties.

Robinson's surgery is likely a season-ender, I imagine he'll be IRed once we sign a replacement.

Most interesting could be the ripple effect from keeping another safety. Does Marlowe go to IR? Or do they hold onto him but sacrifice a fifth RB or sixth WR?
