Don’t Give Up on Keyarris Garrett Just Yet

We didn't judge players so early? People had this guy making the roster before he even went through OTAs because they thought him being a priority UDFA somehow meant he wasn't skipped for 33 other WRs.

Having elevated hopes about theguy is different from having Garrett make the roster. And I seriously doubt that 33 other receivers out of this draft are better than Garrett, so that doesn't really move me. UDFAs prove better than draftees all the time.

It doesn't matter who turns out better later, if teams would've been so compelled to watch the wires for him they would've picked him.

Not really. We don't really know why he wasn't drafted, but we do know that Gettleman was Johnny on the spot when the draft was over.  That may not say as much as some would want, but it says something.

didn't know who he was before the draft will allow him to slip easily from my mind after he is cut.

He was just the nation's leading receiver is all.

I don't know why people feel the need to poo on Garrett, as the real reason he won't make the squad this season is because of the Panthers' depth at the position.  I fully expect him to be signed to our practice squad, so if you want to forget him, that is your right, but just like Byrd has moved up this year, don't be surprised if Garrett gives a good accounting for himself in next year's camp.  Good size, decent speed, and the ability and willingness to learn is something that you may not want to let slip your mind so easily.

don't follow NCAA football. didn't watch one game at all last year. I find it boring. Dude hasn't done anything in camp for me to form an opinion. I'm not in the organization so I guess it doesn't matter what I think. He's a JAG nothing more right now.

Meh.. time will tell what his future will be. Until then, I'll just trust in our coaching staff, especially that pretty good ex-WR we have for a coach, and let the chips fall where they may.

Not rooting for or against him, I just want the best squad for our team. If he happens to be a part of that, great! If not, then we have the better guy playing, instead, which is fine by me.

swear to god if another person cries about him not making it through waiver wires...

He was unstaffed and has done little to nothing in preseason...so why would anyone think he would be picked up by another team for their 53 man roster?  I have heard of over valuing Panthers players...but this one is just down right comical.

No. Just no.

How so?  Ginn can't be trusted as a WR with those hands, so when you take that away, all he has is speed, which Byrd has.  Ginn no longer handles special teams either, which was his initial way on this team, so explain how my OPINION is so completely wrong?
