That would be nice!  It's like what was said when JNo was on the tag:  Play for a contender for less, or play for more on a loser.

I hope something gets worked out so we can keep him and our core players together.

But I believe KK is a much bigger priority for Gettleman than Josh was. I think he will work with KK to make sure he stays a Panther. It may take a while to get to that point but like coach said I think they'll work it out where everyone is happy and we keep him for many years through his prime

Everybody can't make 15 mil. a year!!  The more you win the more the players want. 

If every one made just 10mil. the salary cap would have to go up to 530 mil.  I can see Dave G's dilemma. 

KK is the Man and sure would like to keep him but can't see us breaking the bank to do that.The Eagles might just lay and Egg with with their big Cox.

I think this is the highlight of the quote.  Seems like a little pressure from coach to GM, which isn't what Rivera does, unless it's because they're getting close to a deal...  /fingers crossed

Wonder what the difference is between DGs value on CBs vs DTs? DG has it in his head what each position/player's value is. JNo wanted more than we were willing to give, will KK too? 

 

I realize theres much more to factor in, fair market value, team player, top salary at that position & how close KKis to that, And Star for that matter, so many things....

DG certainly values the inside guys more than the outside. To me, the biggest thing with Norman is that he didn't sign the tender, left the deal on the table for weeks and instead said things publicly. That showed that Norman didn't value being here as much, and that is something that is important to DG. Point being, if Norman REALLY wanted to play here, he would have signed the tag and they would have kept trying to work out a deal or move on at the end of the year.
