Josh Norman on Panthers Front Office - "Dictatorship"

That's an excellent point. His experience with the Redskins hasn't even really started. Wait until he takes his first few personal fouls and we'll see how his defense feels about Josh being Josh.

it's basically new years resolution time in the NFL. Everyone is pumping out stories about how things will be different this year. Even if your team expect to be 6-10, actually going through it is still demoralizing.

He Kinda has a point, you don't see many commercials, endorsements, from anybody but Cam and Luke. When it was time to pay them it was handled very quickly. No issue to us fans but that may bother other players trying to get paid. If you Some how end up becoming the best at your position you may end up playing somewhere else.  Doesnt change my stance on him, Josh really wants to make a name for himself before he hangs up his cleats and I dont have a issue with that. Football is not forever and only the best are remembered. Panthers wanting it to be all about Cam and Luke works because we are winning so I don't have a issue with it. Building a team is all about a philosophy that works.....how long is another question.

But Cam and Luke are also legitimately the best at their position in the NFL. They make the wheels turn on both sides of the ball. Josh for all his great qualities was still in a system that cushioned him.

I've been in his corner all off season. But to call the front office a dictatorship when the team simply wanted him to stop being a dumbass racking up penalties is a low blow.

Thomas Davis, Greg Olsen and others have been part of commercials locally and nationally.

Cam and Luke (primarily Cam) dominate the endorsements because they're among the few Panthers that are nationally recognizable.

And let's be real: How exactly would the team benefit from keeping other guys from getting endorsements anyway?

That part of the story is kind of ridiculous.

Had a lot more to do with his effect on the other receivers the team brought in than "style".

This is true. Still... my point to CRA remains, Smithy, God love him, wasn't a team player. Neither was Josh. Some teams are okay with marquee players being alittle me-first. There's no room for that in Carolina. That's why Josh and Smithy were let go. And I wouldn't have it any other way

It is definitely team first, as it should be.

Maybe it's the Smitty homer in me. But I think he could still be on this squad today if GMan handled it better. Especially with what Smith meant to the team and fan base. He played almost a decade through up and down Panther teams. He was as much a teammate as a he could be.

But I do believe he's been sour ever since.

I would add that, as flamboyant as Cam is, he also helps his teammates, celebrates their successes, and compliments them publicly every chance he gets, so it's not the same thing as Josh Norman's trash talking on the field.
