There is nothing, nothing, that will ever atone for that loss. It's just like '03. It doesn't matter how different the teams were. It doesn't matter how realistic our chances are to get back. We were in the biggest game in professional sports and managed to lose it. It won't feel any better to me until we win one. And then I'll complain that we don't have two.

A win is a win. As long as nobody gets hurt and we win the game that is all that matters regarding our record if we plan to go back to the playoffs.

Fans of other teams and the media members that are not particularly fond of the Panthers have us basically in a lose-lose situation.
If we win, too bad we couldn't win when it counted.
If we lose, see told you the superbowl wasn't a fluke.

Well even if we win its not going to somehow make up for losing a Super Bowl. Only way you make up for losing a Super Bowl is winning one.

I don't think we'll lose... but if the earth were to crack open, unleashing some sort of gigantic monster that helped the Broncos win, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

We lost one game during the regular season last year. If we started out 0-1, there are still 15 more games to go out there and win...

This is a new season.  While sure, it woiuld be a small measure of revenge to beat Denver, I don't really think it helps heal anything. 

Instead, I want the Panthers to go out and do their thing. Play their game, beat Denver, and go along and beat the rest of the commers to win a Super Bowl.  Denver is simply the first step of the regular season.  Sure, it would be nice to stick it to them as a big middle finger, but it's not something earther shattering either way.
