Looks like we're getting Trevor Siemian and Blaine Gabbert to start the season

Peyton Manning sucked.  Peyton knew what to do....he was incapable of doing it for the most part last season.

and I said more dangerous.  Any QB they start will be more dangerous because they will be capable to make throws he flat out couldn't (and Manning couldn't make a ton of them)

Yeah his stats weren't great but like the other poster said, his audibles to check into correct plays and not make dumb decisions were huge. Sure the other qbs will be able to throw farther and harder, but it doesn't mean jack if they can't read the defense or make correct audibles and line changes that Mannig made.

Whoever they start will be more dangerous than Peyton was

More dangerous to whom?  The Broncos or us?

Peyton was at the end, no doubt about it.  But he played a mostly mistake free game.  Well, he didn't make the crushing mistakes that our offense did anyway.  And because of that, they won and we lost.  I am not sure who they start will be the same, ie not make as many critical mistakes.  Might be able to make better throws, but the new guy is also more likely to throw a bunch of interceptions.

I for one disagree. It's that assumption that Peyton Manning had no effect on the SuperBowl outcome that's completely absurd and misleading. Peyton Manning helped pop the cork on the win. His confidence, his experience, his leadership and his ability to play a low risk offense during the Superbowl helped lead them to a victory.

Peyton's the best of game managers. He was able to manage the game in a way no one can. His ability to read plays and recognize calls is unbelievable. No QB can replace what his presence was for the franchise.

Now, put in any of the other guys, and you've got a glaring problem. They have a tendency to make mistakes. If the offense can't hold on to the ball and let the Denver defense do their job, then the Panthers will overhaul them easily. The whole idea to their success is having a low risk game managing offense that heavily relies on their defense for success.

In short, if the Broncos offense isn't able to manage the game well under an unsure QB at the helm (that right there can disrupt the chemistry in an offense; when your QB doesn't even know what hes doing), then it'll be a bad night for them at Mile High. Even if the Broncos defense play as well as they did at the Superbowl, I believe our defense can help us win. I personally saw that our defense was just as potent as the Broncos' defense, it's just the fact that the Broncos were making plays near the endzone while we were in the middle of the field.

TL;DR; Any QB that the Broncos start will never replace what Manning was able to accomplish, or even Osweiler. This concept will be tested on Sept. 8th, and whether any starter can fill the role Manning played.

Truth. Peyton not only had the experience and knowledge, but also the wisdom to know what his limitations were.

Peyton was the worst starting QB in the NFL.

Now, sure he is an all time great so he still has some positives to mention but he stunk...and not just by Peyton standards.

also, his legendary audibling was neutralized.  He couldn't make the throws....so he couldn't go to the plays he wanted to and should of.  He tried early on...and the result was horrific.  Teams have him looks in hopes he would audible to what would be the right play call....because that meant turnovers.

Whoever we play can hand off and let the defense try to win...only difference is they will have the big balls in their back pocket.  Which is what makes a handoff QB dangerous.   Catch a team overplaying the run/handoff game.  Peyton couldn't hurt you with that at the end

If we have had 9 months to scheme for Von Miller and have not found a way to help neutralize him then we are in trouble this year.

Even with the two strip fumbles in the super bowl when you take out Tolbert's fumble and the interception that shouldn't have been and the missed field goal that we typically didn't miss and the long punt return that shouldn't have happened it all leads up to a best case for Denver in the super bowl. All of that ish combined is why we lost and the odds of all that happening in one game again is about nil.

We are going to Denver pissed off and there will be repercussions.

Oh, and let me clear up something...just in case this "Peyton didn't suck" crowd is confused.  They will be more dangerous with whoever they play week 1 on offense...

BUT

We are going to whip dat arse.  Our guys have sat with that lose all offseason.  It ain't going to matter who they play.  We are going to win week 1.

If you look at the year as a whole, no doubt about it.  If you look at his last four games (after he came back from injury), then I don't agree.  1 interception (Ealy's) and an average quarterback rating of around 80.  Not hall of fame numbers, and he couldn't throw the ball very deep, but the did enough to win games.  He was in effect, a game manager type of qb, which is all the Broncos needed last year.

Of course, this year is a different story.  My fear this year is that we might get lit up for a few games until our young secondary gets some experience.  That might happen with any NFL qb, even Sanchez.  But I am still glad it will not be Manning.
