I could take him or leave him at this point, but I just read on nfl.com:

"They have decent cornerback depth with Delvin Breaux and second-year pro P.J. Williams, who has enjoyed a nice training camp."

So, the Saints may not be as hard-up at the position as some may believe. The article also mentioned Cortland Finnegan, which "telegraphed" their intention to release Lewis.

The only other thing that I would like to say is we're not talking running backs. 30 is not the issue here, the issue is his hip injury and availability to play football this year.

So what? We're trying to pay Short and a few more key guys. Signing Keenan would only disturb that process. And did you just compare preseason snaps to regular season snaps?? Good god. Deal with it. Our starting outside corners are gonna be Worley and Bradberry. We're not gonna depend ANY more money for DBs unless we go through a severe injury bug.

if you think signing a guy to a max 1.5-2mil is going to interrupt or affect trying to get short a deal i can't help you there, dude is going to get paid regardless. yes i just compared preseason snaps to regular season snaps, big difference between the two is reg season you are playing to win and preseason you are playing for a job....both important. I guarran fugging tee that baptism by fire bs will stop if it starts costing us games.....100% guarantee. Mcclain was playing nickel before he came here, and lou and williams are irrelevant in this convo since both will either be PS or ST

I have little to no faith in our rookie trio at this point and we all can probably remember what happened to our secondary last season.  I say bring him in for a look at least.

Exact reason why you shouldn't depend on interception stats to tell you anything about the play of a CB. 

Keenan Lewis had a top 10 CB season in 2013, some, including myself, would argue top 5. He was the definition of shut down. He started 14 off the same way, then his knee turned into a grapefruit against San Fran. 

Lewis isn't healthy, but I could definitely see a team like Carolina pick him up and let him get healthy for the stretch. Last time he was healthy, he WAS in the convo for top 5 corner in football.
