Keenan Lewis anyone? Released by the Saints.

If god forbid we have injuries at the position I could absolutely see us considering him during the season if he can get healthy by then and isn't signed. Otherwise, no chance of this happening. Our top 3 corners are locked in and aren't going to change.

He's 30 and not healthy. In fact, Keenan hasn't been healthy in awhile. His body is starting to break down. The last thing we need is for him to take valuable snaps away from Worley and Bradberry. How is that logical? Furthermore, Gettleman drafted three CBs so we stop relying on bandaids.

And, hello, we've still got Young, McClain, Benwikere, Sanchez and Williams filling in the other gaps.

Signing Allen makes zero sense from financial and personnel standpoint.

dudes not about to get a big contract so the financial part is not an issue, being 30 isn't an issue either, his health would be the main issue, which would obviously be checked out before hand. Valuable snaps ? i don't see how, they will get all the snaps they need during preseason..... a higher snap count for them isn't going to necessarily make them better, half the guys you listed play nickel anyway.........it's a low risk high reward situation

McClain is outside

Williams is outside

Young is outside

Bradberry is outside

Worley is outside

How is that half????

So what? We're trying to pay Short and a few more key guys. Signing Keenan would only disturb that process. And did you just compare preseason snaps to regular season snaps?? Good god. Yes, snaps will make them better. To claim otherwise is mind blogging. The whole point of baptism by fire is for rookies to get a mouthful of experience.

Deal with it. Our starting outside corners are gonna be Worley and Bradberry. We're not gonna depend ANY more money for DBs unless we go through a severe injury bug.

I would release McClain and sign Lewis in a heartbeat if he was remotely healthy.  McClain is terrible.  And that's me being nice about him.  You can keep sucking the tit of the Panthers all you want.  But if Lewis was healthy, he would release McClain and or another player on the 90 man roster in a New York minute and pick up Lewis (if he wanted to be here).  He would be stupid not to.

I would def kick the tires on Lewis to see what hes still go left and check that injury.  But something makes me scratch my head as to why the Saints would release their best corner on that horrible of a defense...

bring him in throw him in a preseason game and lets see..

To be fair, this guy is one of the best corners in the league.

lololol

He's never even made a PRO BOWL, much less All-Pro.  Seven interceptions in seven years.  Comparing him to Revis?

Plus, he had hip surgery only 7 months ago.

My thoughts exactly. Never thought Keenan Lewis was anything special. Not sure of this fanfest going on over him here. Weird.

Don't you get it? Fans love old CBs with injuries. Most people still don't realize Tillman can't even cut right now and they'd all tell you to sign him if he came out of retirement.

Look at his player profile, see those highlights? All from 2013 and 2014

Let me get this straight. You want to sign a guy who is injured and 30 years old, who was part of one of if not the worst defenses on record? And on top that he's not that good when healthy, which was a few years ago?

I'm not saying we should sign the guy, but how good the Saints defense was the last couple of years is irrelevant as to whether he was a good individual player  or not.

Not saying I want Lewis,  but what in the hell does he have to do with the ENTIRE defense being bad.

The last time he played at a high level the Saints had a top 5 defense which was the 2014 season

Biggest problem is health and secondly he may be a better man than zone corner.
