Love Keenan. Absolutely thought he was one of the most underrated corners in football for a couple years.

His health fell apart after he took that helmet to the knee vs. San Francisco. He struggled to get healthy last year, probably never should have seen the field. Practiced one time this offseason and hasn't been seen since.

I'm hearing Saints wanted to IR but he wanted to play sometime this year. If he's healthy, he'd be a hell of a band aid. Love his game. Unfortunately, I think his body has failed him.

Edit: just realizing he's my avi on here. He smothered KB in those couple meetings in 14.

To answer everyones question: he's definitely not healthy now. Could he be? I don't know. Saints aren't rich on corners, so it's hard to believe they'd IR or release him if he had a shot at playing.

As much as I would love to see us sign a big name CB I would hate to take away reps from our rookie corners who are healthy and need to learn from experience.

Um I can't stand the Saints but this guy is a baller (when healthy). He would be a great veteran addition to our secondary.

i understand giving the young guys reps but we shouldn't pass on the opportunity.even if he doesn't play right away having him come back mid-to-late season would be a great boost going into the playoffs

If the Saints are letting go a supposedly good player on defense, that raises a red flag. A contingency plan, maybe, but the rookies will learn best with being on the field.

Dude hasn't practiced since surgery and got cut because he won't go to IR

Maybe he stays a FA while he gets healthy, and could be a nice late season signing for the final push ala Finnegan last year.

 

Oh, and I think I read the Saints still owe him like 8 million? I love their cap situation
