Quotes that stood out to me from John Fox's press conference today.

"The kingdom resonates the personality of the king"....John Fox is bland, predictable, and boring - so is our team. Does Fox ever show any passion or desire? If the coach is a wet towel about team performance, why shouldn't the players be the same way? The biggest enemy of being great is satisfaction in just being good. John Fox is satisfied just being good every other year.

To further prove my point...the Jets have really taken on the personality of their new coach.

It's obvious by how much our defense hangs their head on the field. No sense of urgency. No fire. Just bland "it is what it is"-ness.

Q. Can you make the improvements needed with the players you have on the line?

"Yeah, I would think. We’ve got what we’ve got. They’re capable guys who should continue to improve. We’ve got quite a few new people there."

I hate to break the news to you Fox but you've got what you've got cause those are the players you drafted and signed.

I am started to get tired of this "we should continue to improve" "we are getting better crap"... HELLO the regular season as started, its like this team is just going through the motions. The time to get better and work on your game is the offseason and pre-season not work on improving during the regular season. I guess what else are they going to say, I just wish they were a bit more pissed off , etc. I need to pay more attention to what other coaches and players say after loses and stuff like what is going on with the Panthers. But I will tell you this.. I wanted the Panthers to keep Jenkins and the reason they got rid of him was because of his mouth - but that is the kind of attitude I liked!!! I said it then and I will say it now, I would have rather had the D-line built around him than Peppers.

I loved the "I'm not going to make excuses but yes that is why our special teams was bad."

Fox is just grasping at straws now because that answer made no sense what so ever. The question I want Fox to answer is, "why is our defense so bad even though you have 6 starters that were 1st round draft picks?"

Lewis

Peppers

Brayton

Thomas Davis

Beason

Gamble

All 1st round selections, more than half the starting line up, and we can't make a stop on a 3rd down. Whoever says this D is playing to the strength of the players doesn't know dick.

WTF at Fox blaming having to learn a new defense for poor special teams play. Is he serious?

Read it again. That's not what I think he was saying. I think he was saying that when you're learning a new defense, you have to execute. And when you're playing special teams, you have to execute. I don't think he was saying that because they were learning a new defense, the special teams suffered. Just my opinion.

Whoever says that proportion of first rounders in the starting lineup correlates to defensive success doesn't know dick.

Especially talking about Lewis and Brayton. Not all first-rounders are built the same.

You're exactly right. Fox speak is really not that hard to figure out if you really pay attention to the question and what he actually says, which you obviously did, instead of reading things into to what he says based on your own personal bias, which is what most people do because they've already made up their minds anyway.

Of course, if Fox has a losing season, then he definitely deserves to get fired, but that has nothing to do with a stupid week 2 press conference.

You are unbelievable....First round picks are in the top 32 college players selected every year...They should have some skills to be selected that high. We tried to fill at DT spot with a bunch of high picks and UDFA. It doesn't seem to be working out. If you don't think first round players should perform better than those drafted in latter rounds than you are stupider than I first thought. I have read your other posts anyway - and you are stupid.

I wonder if I would be able to call in to that Panther Talk show and ask a pretty simple question but knowing Fox it wouldn't be very insightful.

Q. Why does a team with so much talent continue to under perform?

"It is what it is. That's football. We have what we have. We’ve got what we’ve got. They’re capable guys who should continue to improve."
