Was Swayze Waters really that bad, or maybe he just didn't fit the MOLD

Disappointing this isn't about Patrick Swayze.

Oh well, it is now. No he wasn't bad, I love rewatching Red Dawn, Ghost, Point Break, and even his small part in Donnie Darko. Haven't seen North and South in a while though.

He was shanking punts from the left hash. I mean, that's not good. 

Scifres was having a few problems as well, but he probably got the benefit of doubt for coming off injury and being rusty.

We are a directional punting team. We need our punters to be a little more accurate.

I guess I'm confused by all this "we're a directional punting team".  I can't count how many times in the past we've punted in right in the goddamn middle of the field even when we shouldn't have.

I'm a little surprised the punter situation isn't discussed more. Our special teams unit as a whole was atrocious for so long that when we were able to raise the bar to even a smidge above mediocre/decent it seemed all was forgotten. I would rather not return to those dark days of holding my breath when our special teams takes the field.

Maybe they were fug-ups. Maybe they were intentional, but here is the theory behind directional punting for anyone that wants to know.
