A Byrd Caught In the Webb

I have not posted in a while but all this info and training camp news has gotten the old juices flowing....So with that said a lot of the talk around here is that Byrd If he makes the team It would be for special teams. With that said I'm not sure how many special team/utility guys we need on a roster thats already deep at the main position both these guys would most likely see time at(outside special teams) So with that said does Byrd's chance to make the roster finally make Webb a man with out a home? Sure Webb does a lot more and plays 3 roles for the team but chances are he wont see time at QB(barring some downright meltdown In which case i would rather sign some guy with more starting exp.) Not many teams carry 3 qbs all year but It is nice to have a guy that can play that role as well,But if it is up to me and It means keeping a Dynamic special teams guy and Improving WR I take Byrd cut Webb and see how thing shake down with the rest of the wideouts....I hate to see Bersin Philly or Steven Hill gone just for a special teams spot...so have at It what say you?

Considering they just extended Webb in March I think he's a lock.  At his size and athleticism who can replace him as scout team QB, gunner, and return blocker? I don't think it's Byrd. He's a  more useful than Hill IMO. His versatility frees up roster space as opposed to wasting it.

    • Canales was brought in to fix Bryce. That was how he sold himself. He failed.  the panthers need a new qb, someone to coach him, and someone to build a defensive staff.  Canales has failed at developing a new qb. His big draft project XL is trending towards bust. His entire nfl resume before the panthers was one season as offensive coordinator on a stacked Bucs team, and being on the offensive staff when a 31 year old Geno smith finally put it all together. And he didn’t even pick his offensive coordinator. Assuming evero is gone, who’s he got in that phone to call? What low lvl porn addict evangelical from the bucs is ready to be Peter principled? There is nothing in his coaching history or his current performance that indicates he’s the person to move this team forward. Every other team knew this last cycle (panthers were only interview) and nothing has happened to change that perception   all people like you have is “well you can’t do it again it’s too soon but <random interval of time> will be different.  just pull off the bandage. There’s no reason to let this guy draft “his guy” except people wanting an excuse not to fire him after 2025.
    • Both Reich and Canales were saddled with trying to build and establish a viable scoring offense around Bryce Young. The best the offense looked this season and last season was with Andy Dalton who is also terrible but still better than Bryce Young. Which should be all anyone needs to know but still somehow there are weirdos here salivating over a ceiling of maybe on a really good day the 25th best QB in the league. We've already canned one entire staff over our first overall pick. You can fire everyone again to satisfy your need for vengeance and quickly come to the realization that your next hire will absolutely unequivocally be a downgrade yes man or you can blow up this QB room and then assess. If no progress next season then you can make changes and justifiably so.
    • Surprised this is the only post with this take.  This is like the Rhule kiss of death lol.
