Broncos fan: "You need pie".

I know several Bronco fans that are quite apprehensive about their team this season, particularly Week 1. Very nervous about the QB situation and don't think the defense will be as good as last year.

Typically, those fans are the ones that actually know a little bit about football...not like the fanboys/girls who buy all the gear to make themselves feel like hardcore fans and shoutdown everyone else that opposes their view...but can't name anyone on the starting OL.

well they did beat us without a quarterback...I guess nothing much as changed.

This feels like a thread to get the SB off our collective chests. I won't watch it again but I can think/talk about it now because the season is nigh.

I agree to an extent bro, but there is no denying our team came out flat...just flat. Flatter than Kiera Knightly's chest. That freaking flat.

I don't know. I mean have you ever seen her mom? Maybe she drank coffee as a youngster. I hear that stuff stunts your growth. She is British so many not having Fluoride in your water affected her growing up somehow. She also was in that movie about soccer so maybe she was super athletic and that affected her. I don't know I just feel like maybe it's not her fault. Like maybe...wait...what we're we talking about in here?

I hope the team takes it personal and flat out humiliates the Broncos on opening night.
I don't want to see us try to play ball control the second half after a 28-3 first half, I don't want to see the defense in a soft zone, I want revenge after that BS anomaly of a superbowl.
I want to see Cam run Von Miller over, repeatedly.
I want to see Talib play, and humiliated repeatedly by both Benji and Funch, and I want him to act so foolish he gets himself kicked out of the game by his own coaches or the refs (ala smitty).
I want to see our front seven feast on the butt fumble man.  I don't even care about our secondary, I don't want to see the ball in their territory.
I'm NOT over the superbowl, it was our year and we were screwed by every possible degree imaginable.
Let the league know that no defense has a chance in hell at stopping us.  We gave them fun, drama, controversy and smiles and everything fans of the league wanted.  Playtime is over, we are now the evil empire, get ready to complain about our lack of sportsmanship and our undefeated record.

Fans of 31 other teams can go to hell.  Be afraid special pants.

Nice.

I would pay to see Al Pacino read your post.

I believe the bigger issues that shut down the offense were Jonathan Stewart getting injured early, the OTs being weak against speed rushers on the edge, and receivers having trouble getting open and catching the ball.

Speed rushers off the edge coupled with the receivers inability to get open quickly and catch the ball consistently will kill the Panthers offense. It did last season, and the Panthers faced very few speed edge rushers throughout the season. Problem is the Panthers offense will have to deal with several teams this season that are among the best speed edge rushers in the game.

Pair that with the significant declines in the secondary/DE this season and match ups like the Broncos, Raiders, Chargers, Chiefs, Falcons, and Rams do not look very promising.

We all must hope the rookie DBs are pro bowl players, and that KB and Funchess make a big leap while avoiding the second year slump. I do not think there is much hope for the OT position against speed edge rushers this season.

Read half of this post...started getting really pessimistic...scrolled up to see who wrote it...wasn't surprised.

I mean this guy acts how I feel Browns fans should act.

Definitely looking forward to seeing that Donkey defense without Trevathan, Malik Jackson, and Vance Walker, possibly also without Derek Wolfe (rolled his left ankle in practice today) and Talib (facing possible suspension for doing a Plaxico Burress in a nightclub).

That O-line got blown up this off-season, too. Bye bye Evan Mathis, Louis Vasquez, and Ryan Clady. Hello the oft-injured former Seachicken Russell Okung, the up and down former Chief Donald Stephenson, and 3 players entering their 2nd year.

Haven't even mentioned the new QBs yet, who won't have TEs Owen Daniels and Vernon Davis to help stretch our defense and chip CJ and Ealy.

Yeah, 1 team doesn't have a chance on opening night.

You're looking forward to seeing the Denver defense minus two role players and a backup? Malik and Danny were good, but hardly significant weapons, and Vance was Malik's backup last season.

The O-line got blown up because they were terrible.  Bye bye Mathis and Vasquez, who are both older guys and were injured the whole season.  They did not play well.  Bye bye Ryan Clady, who missed 2 of the last 3 seasons, including the 2015 Championship run.  The O-line may not be good this season, but it's hard to be worse than what they put on the field last year.

Your only intelligent point is at QB, but then again, everyone knows that is an issue, so not exactly penetrating insight.  By the way, though, the Broncos won the Super Bowl last season with historically bad QB play, so I'm not going to stress over it.  Whoever takes the snaps basically just needs to hand the ball off, avoid turning the ball over, and let the epic defense win games.

Owen Daniels was not rehired because they have younger, better options and as for Vernon Davis, do you actually believe the Broncos will miss his 20 catches, including the amazing 0 he put up during the postseason?

I sure hope the Panthers organization does better scouting than their fans, or it will be another 2 TD blowout.

Hope all you want, but whether or not they "take it personal", the Panthers were outplayed by a better defense and a more prepared team.  The best they can hope for is squeeze out a tight victory.  Even if there is some miraculous blowout, it won't be revenge.  The Broncos already won the game that was important.

Cam isn't going to run over Von. We've already seen what happens when the two of them meet in a game, and it results in Cam on his butt.

It wasn't "your year", it only felt like that because you feasted on a cupcake schedule and believed your own hype.  You were screwed by nothing, except the inherent flaws in the team and the ridiculous overconfidence they brought to the biggest game of the year.  They should have been trying to figure out how to beat an historic defense instead of dabbing and planning parade routes.

I think it ends up being a close game on September 8 but the Panthers should be heavily favored and should put up at least 27 points.

The Panthers would need 8 quarters to score 27 points on this defense, and as this time it's a regular season game, they'll have a maximum of 5.  You should shoot a little lower or risk disappointment.

I hope you got some pie at that shop. It's truly delicious pie.

Most of the Broncos fans I know have fairly reserved expectations this coming season. They're just hoping that their defense is at least as good as last year because they know offense is going to be a struggle. They also know that the Chiefs and Raiders are likely to be serious contenders within their division. They'll be happy to just make it back to the playoffs. Thrilled with anything more.

LOL! Just saw PleaseGetReal's post. Hey, every fanbase has it's delusional idiots.

Get real yourself kiddo. Let me put this in perspective. Imagine this on offense: Funchess, Benjamin, Ginn, and Olsen on the field. Explain to me how your defense will cover these guys.

Who's gonna double Olsen? Or better yet, who's gonna double Benjamin, Olsen, and Funchess, and account for Ginn and the run game?

"Bah Von Miller Von Miller"

I am highly doubtful the OLine will pull that mistake again. Every Bronco fan out there with some rational thought knows that the Broncos had everything going their way that game, and don't give me this B.S. the refs didn't help ease the way.

Should I mention the Carolina's Defense is looking pretty stacked as well? DT is deep, our LB's are insane, our corners are making huge leaps in progress. Ealy and Johnson are solid starters, and will get the job done at DE.

You delusional fans make me laugh. Cam won't be dabbing, but he'll be dancing and celebrating as Benjamin bullies your corners, Funchess slides away from corners, Olsen does his thing, and Ginn stretches the field. Very few defenses would have an answer to Carolina's weapons, you're delusional to not consider the fact this offense is much better than last year.

Also, JJ Watt has been shut down before by our OLine, I have a feeling we'll find a way to contain Von Miller. I'm just not seeing how a team with a weak offense is gonna handle our Stout Defense and Strong offense. Just grab your tissues, and get ready for some crybaby Bronco memes coming up soon ;)
