right and where on the same board...so am glad your on the same level as me...thanks

The difference between you and I is I don't claim to have all the answers for you.

Your first post made quite the impression. It actually made me laugh, so I have to thank you for that.

It was Socrates who said in Plato's Five Dialogues that "I am the smartest man, for I do not claim to know what I do not know."

Maybe he was on to something.

I can bet you that you haven't watched film on Derek Anderson. You may have read his scouting report and heard that he was competing for the starting job in Cleveland, but didn't get it. But you don't know what kind of a player he is. Do you know what his contract is? What are his 3rd down completion percentages? Is he good on the run, or is he purely a pocket passer? What are his passing tendencies? How's his footwork? Does he move well? How about his mechanics? Is he elusive in the pocket? Does he spread the ball around or does he key in on specific receivers that he trusts? How quick is he to throw the ball away or check it down? Please, tell me. Humor me. Don't worry...I'll wait.

The point is the things that are not commercially available to you are the things that GMs know. Not form what they get on Yahoo! Sports or from ESPN, but from watching the tape, talking with pro scouts, and doing the research.

Great comeback, and your knowledge, or lack thereof, of the NFL is embarrassing.

as a fan i was just throwing that out there...not like a have a direct line to the carolina panthers GM office sir..but i would rather have somebody who one way or another help own team out than to worry about jake not losing a game for us which i must say he had a better game then the one against the eagles..again as a fan just throw that out there for feedback..i thought that what a message board was for..but if i need help with any of the NFL rules or anything of the nature you will be the first person that i send i message to...thanks mangement

I highly doubt we will this year but we have to do something with him next year. We can't just let him walk, we wouldnt even get a supplemental pick. If we franchised him next year I doubt someone is going to want to give up alot for him. I'd be happy if we got a high 2nd and 3rd in exchange for Peppers. We have good depth at DE.

    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
    • And every nfl player wannabe tries to up their draft position through things like the combine and theyre all basically lying though those drills theyve practiced hundreds of times that have little bearing on if theyre a good football player. The pro days are even worse. All you have to do is dupe 1 team. Is it right? No. But until teams put more emphasis on college tape vs. What they did in shorts with no defense it'll happen every year. I doubt there is a single player that wouldn't try anything to up their draft prospects.  Young had years of tape and that shouldve been what the decision was based on. Not a scale and throwing in shorts.  ( btw I think the combine and pro days are 90% a waste of time) Young has it financially made already. It's up to him if he wants to be a good football player too. I think the benching was the best thing that could've happened to him. It remains to be seen if it was enough
    • This.  Honest introspection on his behalf would have seen that size and strength were his biggest weaknesses. He looks no different. With the programs in the NFL, he could have come back to camp 10 lbs of muscle heavier. Easily. If had done so, it would have been reported on. It would have been the hottest story…. But we never saw anything of the sort, so it probably never happened.  He showed improvement this last game, likely from Andy’s tutelage. He has to show something VERY special to close the season out to change my thinking on him… like 4 game winning streak with a clutch 4th quarter comeback. Then maybe.
