from derek anderson....maybe they might take him...i mean he wants to play in the 3-4 right and anderson likes to throw it deep which would open lanes for the monster running game we have....cause with jake back there safetys are coming up close to the line...think chad pennington last year with the jets

I don't think we can trade him, but cool first post!

Why can't we trade him? He's under contract with us. Does he have a no trade clause?

I wouldn't trade him to Cle. for Anderson. I'd trade him for their first round pick tho so we can draft one of the stud QBs coming out this year. Colt McCoy in a Panthers uniform sounds good to me...

this is a good idea. Let's trade one of the best DE's in the game for a one hit wonder that can't even beat out Brady Quinn. Personally, I think Anderson is a decent QB, but I would not give up someone like Peppers for him. That would be a very very bad deal for us. Plus, you still have the same issue.....who is going to pay him $17 millions. Ummm....no one and that is the problem.

I think we are extremely limited in our options with Peppers because of the way the franchise tag works. We missed the deadline to get him a long term contract, and no team (other than the Panthers) are going to want to spend that kind of money for a one year deal on him, he just isn't worth that much. Not to mention they only have to wait one year and see if he hits the market. Face it, we are stuck with him and his million dollar plus salary per game for an "impact" player that just doesn't bring that kind of impact to the game.
