I love Cam.  I respect Cam.  But, there is certainly a hefty portion of his undue criticism rooted in racism.  I'll never forget being at the Chiefs preseason game in 2014, and some fat douche redneck in my section yelling after an incompletion, "what they need tuh dooo is put a reeeeal quarterback in there.  they need to bench his ass and bring in Anderson!"  I silently just shook my head.  fuging idiot...

I do wonder what he meant by the "I'm an african-american QB" at the SB, if he is now saying his criticism isn't about race?  At the end of the day though, I don't really care because he took the high road and did the right thing by not giving them more fuel.

Cam is in a situation where he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Currently, he's a trending topic on Twitter and people are lighting into him, saying he's not telling the truth. People can't see the bigger picture where you have to give the media nothing to talk about. I guarantee if Cam said the opposite it would be a media firestorm and talked about all week. Simply because it is Cam this topic might still be a week long conversation just so the talking heads can have something to talk about.

Do you feel like football fans are racist toward you?

“It’s not racism. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion.”

So if it’s not that, what is it, do you think?

“I’ll let you be the judge. I don’t look at it like that. I look at it like some people have certain beliefs, and I have my own belief

Cam pretty much answered in roundabout way

Cam is really protecting his brand, and that's fine. He is basically saying that if you read his responses which are decidedly noncommittal, or relegated to being "personal," and that's how he has decided to handle questions of a largely social and political nature.

You're not going to get down to the meat of the matter right now, because Cam doesn't see how any of it helps his brand. But that's his choice, popular or unpopular as it may be.

I love you Cam, but I disagree. Some fans are racist towards him because he's black. Also, we are not beyond racism as a nation.

He has completely backtracked from his previous statements on this matter. I wonder who got in his head to make him do so.

Facts. Sad really, but not atypical.
