This year KK Short could go IR week 1

This year Charles Johnson could go IR week 1

This year Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis, Shaq Thompson could go IR week 1

With all of these "what ifs" I can rest easy with the assurance that we're signing Hardy.

Thanks Cameron!

I feel compelled to say something that I've noticed numerous times throughout this thread:

The proper phrase is "Would have"

Not "Would of"

Commonly spoken as a contraction in the form of "Would've" which I will admit does sound like "would of", but it's actually spelled out as "Would Have" or "Would've"

Back to the Circlejerk folks.

Yeah..  They should of known better

they might sign hardy next year but this year is too soon.  practically only a year removed from releasing him.   Signing him now effectively erases all the good will and "media feel-good's" JR got from the media after deciding to release him.    Another thing,   those pictures his GF did Hardy in.  He may of had a chance before that but...   the pics man.   the pics.

Yep.  Buckle up amigo, because no matter what happens it's still an unprecedented story.  If he doesn't sign or (most likely) signs for a one year deal in the near future, he's still a 29 year old stud with relatively little wear and tear and no major injury history, not to mention there's no obvious FA solution to an even bigger hole of CJ next year and maybe even Kony the year after that, and picking at the end of every round all bets are off.  So...yep.

To clarify, JR never released him, neither did Jerry Jones.  Both just decided not to re-sign him.  In our case, JR obviously knew an additional suspension was coming, he signed with the Cowboys in March, and for a much larger cap hit than he'd require now.

thanks for correcting me you're right.  I think it makes football sense to sign him.... and it's probably something DG and RR have pitched to JR....  but I really don't think JR is gonna ever greenlight greg hardy ever coming back.  especially after a 15-1 regular season without him...   just my thoughts.

He'll never play for this team again. We let him walk from us when he was offering to "play for free" AND was at the absolute peak of his productivity. With the way he looked with the Cowboys, I'm comfortable saying he didn't learn a damn thing from any of the trouble he brought upon himself and continued to live up to the "dark knight" or whatever the hell he thinks he is. He needs off the field help before he belongs back on anyone's field. The Cowboys offered him the second chance that MANY players in his position would kill for. Ray Rice is literally offering to donate all his proceeds to charity for a chance to play again. This idiot is throwing it away with both hands.

We're a team that just went 15-1 and all the way to the Super Bowl. I don't want ANY distractions in the room that's going to break up the family atmosphere we have. No one player is bigger than the room and it starts from Cam all the way down. We cut players with "big personalities" for four straight seasons. Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams, Greg Hardy, and Josh Norman. If that isn't a message about what this team is about, I don't know what is. None of those players were done by their gas tank, but they were more ego than Gettleman wanted. To think we'd circle back and pick Hardy back up is to show an ignorance of the way Gettleman works. It wasn't about money with Hardy after the incident.

Agree.  But write JR anyway.  It's not difficult or time consuming and you just. never. know.

If you are writing Jerry Richardson about greg hardy, you may have issues

So Thomas Davis does it and he doesn't have issues?  "The fan is the most valuable member of the team."  Jerry Richardson.
