That is correct.

Like I said early on in this thread, society is ultra sensitive to certain things right now.  Those things take the forefront, and are going to get a majority of the attention.  Mostly unwanted, and distracting attention.  No teams want to deal with that, otherwise, he'd already be on someone's roster.  It's not Panthers' exclusive.

Not totally untrue, but what about Tyreek Hill?  Larry Johnson was a five five five five five time woman beater, and they drafted that joker?!  On Saturday, the home fans in the relatively conservative Midwest were cheering him on with bated breath, and there were no known Michelle Beadle sightings.  This is a guy without an established rapport of love and support with his teammates either as Hardy Jr has here.

Once the initial chitstorm were to pass, they will fade and/or we throw the hypocritical BS back in their face.

"But domestic violence is not why Hardy doesn't have a job, not in and of itself anyway. The fact that he drove the Cowboys absolutely nuts last season is the biggest reason he's not back in Dallas. And other teams have taken note."

So you're saying that those guys got a second chance?

Babe Ruth and Michael Jordan are the consensus 1a and 1b greatest athletes of the last century.  Those and others, Pele, Muhammad Ali, etc. were either aholes to the media or teammates, egomaniacs, or engaged in what many today would have deemed irresponsible behavior.

Of course.  In the case of Hill he doesn't even have to sit one, much less 21, games.  Just come right in and make plays.  Go Chiefs

Hardy did to, with Dallas, and screwed it up.  Not only that, but the shitstorm never passed.  You could find reports all season long about women's groups raising hell about Hardy still playing.  Along with that came extra media attention, like Dallas didn't already have enough, and all he does is act like a fool for the whole league to see.

Then you start hearing reports about him being a distraction in the locker room, being late to meetings, etc.  All he had to do was work, and play.  Show up, do his job, nothing extracurricular, and he'd probably have a new contract with Dallas.  Teams don't want to deal with that, not even Dallas, and I can't blame them.

After 4 years, with no LT and no money, he was still tagged here by a GM that didn't even draft him, so again I don't care about Dallas.

The media would be a headache and no one wants that, but I clearly believe worth the headache.  We already deal with them with Cam and they already hate us.  With some informed PR like above, citing what is happening in Kansas City and elsewhere when challenged, a statement from Mr Richardson and/or GMan about his continued counseling efforts and his comfort level with this team, his team, the DE situation is solved for an unprecedented bargain deal and the greatest team of all time can take the field and make history.  Despite efforts to the contrary I'm still not holding my breath, but I do believe epiphanies are possible and JR at least has a punchers chance to have one.

I think it's great that you feel that way.  Maybe that's something that could work, I just don't think they want to risk it.  It's like I was saying when this conversation started, they don't want players that have to have clauses.  That doesn't mean that I don't believe in giving him another shot.  According to his agent, he's taken a lot of steps to clean up his act.  That last impression is a tough one for teams though.  They have a lot more at stake.

Indeed, everything in life has risks.  It's obviously impossible for me (and many others btw) to look at ALL the facts and see how the risk here isn't worth the reward that would be significantly improved SB odds and untouchable all time team dominance for a peanuts contract.  But sure, the risk and media headache is understandable.

I feel compelled to say something that I've noticed numerous times throughout this thread:

The proper phrase is "Would have"

Not "Would of"

Commonly spoken as a contraction in the form of "Would've" which I will admit does sound like "would of", but it's actually spelled out as "Would Have" or "Would've"

Back to the Circlejerk folks.

The "This time he really really REALLY means it and has really REALLY learned his lesson" Effect in action.

So I heard Johnson tweaked his knee today

We can pretty much pencil him in on the IR this year, his body is done

We still good at pass rush ? lol maybe if we want to win 9 games, for a Super Bowl, if you don't have a pass rush, uh, you arent winning poo

Put you armchair GM's think you are friends with JR cause you followed the team since inception

Hardy will be a Panther, PERIOD and you are ALL WRONG

Not sure if it's too much to ask, but maybe make the announcement Monday or Tuesday night while the rest of the country is watching Bachelor in Paradise, ensuring he and Tom can become reacquainted in BOA a week from Friday.  Pretty please.  With sugar on top.
