I can't get over how anti-Hardy this place is

You guys do realize by saying "we don't want this elite DE"

You really are saying we don't want to win the Super Bowl, getting there is fine .. as if we will even be as good as we were last year. If you arent improving you are getting worse, and our D is clearly getting worse if you don't sign Hardy which is clearly why we are

You dont cut your best CB, draft 3 rookie CB's, draft a rookie DT, and say, TIME TO WIN A RING

No .. there is a clear plan behind all of this and the plan is that we will sneak an ALL PRO DE on our roster right before week 1

Going "all-in" for a superbowl rarely works.  Be the Patriots / Steelers: draft talented players, keep your cap under control, develop capable backups and be a contender every year.

Yet another silly little person who thinks that DG spends 1st round picks on NEED.

And, amazingly enough, DG didn't pick a DE in either the 2015 or 2016 drafts.  Absolutely ODD for a team so desperate for DEs as you say.  Obviously, the General Manager disagrees with you.

Says the person who only days ago said he hoped DG was scouring the country for DE depth.  You either disagree with DG yourself or can't even keep track of what you believe.

Et tu, top Dawg?

I'm pretty sure that most of us would take hardy on the team, but the delusion lies in the fact that some think it will happen. It will never happen

I've said repeatedly it's unlikely but no one knows what an 80 year old with health issues who has just been screwed by his peers that he believed respected him will do.  Write JR and try to be part of the solution.  The only people that want to see it less than those here that don't want it are the fans of the other 31 that would poop their pants.

You seem to be confused at the difference between then (the past) and now (the future).

And I guarantee you, no matter the NEED, if there isn't a DE with a 1st round grade sitting when we pick in the 1st round in 2017, DG will pick another remaining position that DOES have a player available with a 1st round grade.  Hell, it might even be another LB or WR.

Then guys like you will proceed to go bat-poo crazy yet again, because y'all never learn.

No big deal. My first post in this thread stated that the old man will never let it happen. For me, the argument was always a philosophical one.

If he was on THAT team would the defense have been better against Manning and perhaps have changed the tone of the game? Like Von Miller?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again....no, Hardy wouldn't have outperformed Ealy in that game.  Defense wasn't a problem.  We weren't missing better DE play.

what we could of used vs Denver was better RT or RB play

You're talking in circles.  Obviously there's no sane reason for DG to not sign a guy who was a good teammate that will help us immensely at a position of immediate need for cheap at this point.  At this point it's simply a matter of JR's willingness to put up with the uninformed, phony, and/or Panther hater backlash in exchange for propelling our Super Bowl odds into practical inevitability.

Jerry Richardson crying on stage was a direct result of Hardy's actions. That's the reason it'll never happen

Really?  Did he cry in May?  July at the kangaroo court?  August in BOA while cheering on #76?  September in Tampa?  Just a hunch but it'd say Atlantic City elevator video ensuring the Panthers wouldn't win Super Bowl 49 had something to do with it.

21 games and a thrown out case later, longer than any rapist, murderer, officer assaulting thug, etc., in league history, 4 of which were on another team which would have made bringing him back last year far less appealing or realistic (not to mention he was signed in March), here we are, coincidentally with huge question marks at DE.  I'm not optimistic but if it doesn't happen JR deserves to be called out on it.  We'll see.

You're a lost cause.. There's no point in trying to make you be logical

I don't care whether they sign hardy or not but I really need to know when he became the best de to ever play the game. I mean I've seen claims in this thread that the panthers lost the last 2 super bowls because he didn't play and that they are pretty much guaranteed a win this year if they sign him. I know he was pretty good while here but I guess last sb he would have played rt and receiver in place of cotchery.

One more thing, how bad was Dallas if they weren't even able to make the playoffs with the wonder de on the team?

    • Yeah, we kinda found out didn't we. A lot of the people who whined constantly left and a lot of the toxicity just magically vanished with them with zero changes in how we moderated the site. Wild. It's almost like the folks who were constantly complaining about toxicity were causing a lot of the toxicity. Listen, some folks were unhappy here so they left and created a place where they're happier. Good. That's how the internet should work. That's the beautiful thing about the internet. If there isn't a virtual place that you think should exist you can create that place. But you really have to stop trying to drag us back to that place of toxicity. If you like the Discord group, cool. If you still like it here too, great. But don't keep dragging up this bullshit. Do you see me going over to their group and calling them a bunch of whiners? No. They created the place that they wanted and I'm genuinely happy for them. Participate here without constantly bringing that poo up or just leave and stay over there.
    • He has the arm talent you want with good size and mechanics (can break down under pressure). I feel like PSU never really turned him loose, but they also didn’t hard any great weapons not named Warren. I could see him as a Herbert type prospect who makes a better pro when he gets away from his college’s scheme.  I doubt he makes it out of round 1 unless he regresses big time without Warren.
    • I think Bryce is going to benefit from TMac’s ability to track the ball especially when the play breaks down. Legette wasn’t great at that last year. Im interested in seeing if XL comes back this year putting more of an emphasis on using his hands to catch the ball. If you go and watch all of XL’s receptions his final season at South Carolina he catches the ball the same way he did his rookie season. He’s never trusted his hands and it shows up when he’s asked to catch the ball over his shoulder. There’s always going to be frustrating drops if that’s how he’s going to try and catch the ball the rest of his career  Scourton lost 20-25lbs after the college season. He actually played at a similar weight to his A&M weight his sophomore season at Purdue when he had 10 sacks. However, he said he felt his body was more tighter (weight wise) carrying that extra 20-25 at Purdue than at A&M. He said the weight loss wasn’t even done purposely but just him learning how to eat correctly.
