Hardy?

Someone was bored and started this thread, yet I am going to respond anyway.

We were a few plays away from a SB trophy last year.  Defensive end is not our weakest position and if Ealy continues to improve and Johnson stays healthy, it could become one of our strongest.  Why on earth would we want to bring in a guy who did little for Dallas last year, and who seems to not be wanted by any other NFL team?

All the reasons everybody has made up to why we won't or shouldn't sign Hardy ... it comes down to this ...

Do you want the Carolina Panthers to win a Lombardi Trophy ?

We've never been in the proverbial "piece away" position before so all you nimrods that think you know everything can take a hike

If he were truly making progress, then why did he end up putting himself in the situation he did?

Nobody put a gun to his head and forced him to use poor judgement and make bad decisions. He did that all on his own.

The ultimate responsibility for everything that happened to Hardy is his own, not everybody else's.

When did I say it wasn't his responsibility?

Progress is progress. You can make strides in certain areas, and not so much in others. You understand that. Hardy isn't the first man to use bad judgement when dealing with a woman.

You can inject some qualification of "true progress" if you like in your own mind. I said the guy had made progress, and he had.

From the article...

Quote

“We had to do what was right for the organization, and we went forward from that point,” Rivera said. “It’s an unfortunate set of circumstances, a very serious problem and issue in our society today. We made a decision that we thought was going to be good going forward.”

The people who made that decision haven't changed their minds, nor are they likely to.

You're cracking.  You were on the never, ever, ever bandwagon for so long.  Even I've said not likely to.

We have a ton of "one players away's" for other teams ..

We arent the Cowboys, that thought they were Hardy away from being a good defense

We've got other great defensive players, Hardy wouldnt be "one player away" it would be beefing up on D so much you can't fail

I'm not even sure you know what you're arguing anymore.
