I find it irritating that the only article or mention of our game is that Terrance West scores twice and Cam Newton is dressed like Pharrell and caused a TD to be called back.

Clearly they are back on their smear campaign grind.

They're just jealous of Cam. The hate is beyond ridiculous.

Yet every single one of them would take him on their team in a minute.

And Cam still gets criticized. Mike Florio's tune on Profootball talk

Smear campaign grind.

The only thing about this that is some what pleasing to me is that this team, under Cam and Rivera has always played as the underdogs. Even when they are 9-1 or 14-0, or 17-1, they still are underdogs. Cam is still being treated as a second tier QB (no, I don't say this because of the ESPN poll, which in the manner completed would make any statistician cringe) and he thrives on doubt.

So let people in the National Media continue to doubt, and watch Cam go to work. As much as Thomas Davis ribs Cam during practice, he will be there to lift him up and push him when needed. All of the media buzz returning to normal will only keep that fire lit.

From the NFL rulebook (2015 edition, but it's still valid)

"Penalty: For more than 11 players on the field of play or the end zone while the ball is in play: Loss of five yards from the previous spot."

http://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/2015-nfl-rulebook/#rule-5.-players,-substitutes,-equipment,-general-rules

The rule has been on the books forever, but it has been getting out of hand in recent years. Really, just stay behind the lines guys.

And here's an example why the rule exists:

The great Tommy Lewis tackle from the bench, ftw!

I can only imagine what would happen if somebody tried that bs with 89. I guarantee that thug wouldn't have been able to stroll back to the bench
