DL and OL depth WTF

Delaire had one of the worst games I have ever seen from a DE. The second string o-line also looked really bad. Now we have been a pretty terrible run blocking team for a few years now(which is incredibly sad considering how much we run the ball) but tonight was an extra level of bad.

Run D struggled a lot in the late first, 2nd and 3rd quarters.   All around from DL to LB to S.

Delaire was flat out bad.

Run stop takes time this day and age because of the practice rules.  With that said Delaire did look terrible. We also lost a bunch of one on one matches at DT. I wouldn't be surprised if cuts come early there.

Not defending the lackluster play of some of the depth but in real game situations you don't sub in an entire line at a time. Maybe moreso the DL gets substantial combinations of different players.  The OL is pretty much subbing in a guy for injuries whether short or long term.

Delaire has done literally next to nothing since the first game he played unfortunately. Its not too surprising he looked bad.

DT is fine. The best unit in the NFL. DE concerns me a lot. More than any position. Luckily with the pressure up the middle from Star, KK, Butler and co, and the linebackers we have all our DEs need to be able to do is contain. I don't see Delair making the team. He looked like he had absolutely no business on an NFL field. I'll be looking for him on Canadian league team. Gentleman knows dline. Especially pass rushers. I wouldn't put it past him to trade for a veteran DE or sign a couple of cut DEs. Our current depth at that position is atrocious

Disagree, outside of Delaire everyone looked the part. DT on the other hand looked crappy. No push or getting of blocks at all. While we really don't take preseason seriously there were lots of battles lost all along that line.

It's a good thing we have the first string offense and defense we have because those are the guys who will be playing during the season. Most of the guys that played tonight will hardly ever see the field even if they make the team. Our first strings are dominant

Ealy did not show up, and his pass rush was sub par today. Had a slight break down in containing the RB, but luckily Star slid down the line to save it. He did not make any serious errors though, but this goes back to his inconsistency and why Rivera has had trouble trusting him as the starter. Ealy makes for a great back up though.

Man i kinda felt bad for Delaire, saw him getting knock to the ground to many times on rushes lol

Delaire has spent most of camp on the ground. Sometimes coaches catch him on the ground too long and not popping back up so they start yelling at him to get off the ground. I do not see Delaire getting cut though because he is one of the players Gettleman wants to see do well. I personally think we need to give up on the Gettleman projects of Foucault, Scott, Delaire, and Norwood. Just write them off as bad moves and look for new potential.
