Which one of you did this to Mike Remmers's Wikipedia page?

I like Remmers but he is a JAG. I rather have Williams start, whose ceiling is higher  and fits the Panther's offensive scheme better.

Without looking it up, name the best right tackle in the NFL.

Heck, many on here would struggle to name any other right tackle except maybe one in the division.

The perception that every other team has an all pro at right tackle while we have "just a guy" is silly.

So clearly we don't all recognize the use of an absurdist statement to make a point. Okay...

But to the "Remmers will get destroyed if we put him out there against Von Miller again" crowd, tell me: on what do you base your assumption that the coaching staff is just going to throw him out there one-on-one against speed rushers like Miller again?

I'm reasonably sure our coaching staff has seen the game film of the Super Bowl by now.

imo you're shifting the goalposts here. the original criticism had nothing to do with coaching strategies like extra blockers but was focused on remmers's skillset alone, a criticism that exists independently of coaching decisions.

hopefully matsko has worked with him to up his game, because the broncos provided a blueprint that every single team we play this year will try to employ to defeat us.

So should every team just bench and replace any right tackle that Von Miller beat badly last year?

Or should they adjust their schemes while at the same time continuing to work and improve whomever they deem the best right tackle on their roster?

Every single team does not have von miller and Wolfe and Jackson and Ware. That is not a blueprint that's the best edge rushers in the league.

you are over-reacting, no one said that. it's been brought up that he's been exposed by numerous teams down the stretch; this doesn't mean he sucks or should automatically be replaced or that he's a JAG... just that he's got demonstrable weaknesses that teams will try to exploit, and did, en route to a super bowl win.

hopefully he will come back and have a pro bowl year.

You haven't said that, but a few other folks here have said exactly that.

I pay a lot of attention to o-lines, and I can tell you that Remmers is actually pretty representative of what you'll find on most teams.

"Bookends" are pretty rare anymore. Thus, scheming to cover them is more important. And sadly, we definitely didn't do that in the Super Bowl.

agree, i think he's a top-15 tackle. the question ultimately is whether or not darryl williams can outperform him.

edit: and whether his exposure during the playoffs will lead to continued exploitation by defenses during the regular season.

Csx has a good point about that above, though.

I've begun to believe Williams might still be a year away in the eyes of the coaching staff.

But with that said, it wouldn't exactly be a huge surprise to see him take over mid-season if Remmers struggles.
