Olsen and Gronk racing to set NFL record

With Benjamin back, and Funchess coming into his own, I have a hard time seeing Olsen reach the 1000 yard mark again.  I think there just wont be as many targets to go around.

Might be right...makes sense....but I really hope he get it.  He deserves it.  I bet Cam thinks so too.

I'll probably take some heat for this on here, but I hope they both cross the 1,000 mark in the same week at the exact same time.

I love Olsen, one of my favorite players on obviously my favorite team.

But I'm a huge Gronk fan, favorite non-Panther and it isn't even close.

But to be fair, I'm an Arizona alum and the two years he played in college were my last two years in school, so I've been a Gronk fan longer than Olsen as he didn't join the Panthers for a few years after that.

I actually don't think he will fall off.. He drew double coverage a lot in 2015. With Benjamin demanding double coverage and Funchess needing support over the top occasionally Olsen will get a lot of single coverage. Then put Ginn or Hill in the slot and how do you stop this offense.  I like Olsen's chances against any safety or linebacker in single coverage.

Overall I bet we throw a lot more this year. We revamped the whole running game after Benjamin went down. We ran because we had to last year. With Benjamin back I think we revamp the passing game which will improve the running game as well. I bet with our group of receivers we will see a lot of three receiver sets with Olsen being the 4th. Should be someone open all the time.

I'm confused as to why it matters who gets it first. If they both do it, they will have done it in the same season. Who got the 1,000 yards first will not matter.

Technicalities, I guess.  In reality, it doesn't matter but it does add some excitement to it.  Plus, it's another thing Vegas can put in the books!

The opposite should happen.  With KB and Funch (also Ted Ginn and Philly in the mix), Olsen should be open for business.  It would be stupid for teams to cover Olsen and allow the other targets more space to roam.  If anything, people will double KB and spend more time defending the deep route against Ginn.  This will leave Olsen free to do what he want to do and how he want to do it.

I see it a bit differently.

When KB and Olsen were out there together KB was still a rook, and the other starter was Cotch....our WR corps was not in great shape, hence both of them getting 1k, and the next closest WR getting 580, then the next hauling in 151.

This year we have a determined KB, an experienced Funch, Ginn who found his stride last season, as well as Philly and whomever rounds out the corps all trying to get catches.

I think 1k will be tough this year, unless we decide to make Greg the centerpiece of the offense like Gronk is in NE.

There's so many options for Cam.  In essence they all should be open.  Assuming Olsen plays all 16 games, a thousand yards shouldn't be that hard for him to obtain.

I hear you, but there is a reason this has been so hard to achieve so far....

There were only 4 TE's in the NFL that had 1k receiving last season, it's not as common as we believe it to be.
