ESPN "would the city of Cleveland trade LeBron to Charlotte for Cam?"

age skews it.

if they were of comparable age I would call it a push and your sport preference being the deciding factor.

Upon further thought, if LeBron was younger I actually say you take LeBron (the whole 1 man has a bigger impact in basketball rationale).  As a current trade, you easily take Cam.

In what sense, nationally the NFL is almost non existent while basketball is the second most popular sport in the world to soccer. But in the states it's nfl and then nba.

I'm guessing you meant to say internationally.

Well Cam Newton still provides more value to CHARLOTTE than Lebron James could provide. Lebron...older entering the twilight of his career while Cam Newton...younger entering the prime of his career. The question was Cleveland and Charlotte, not USA and the World.

IF Lebrons rings and his accolades came with the trade in a Hornets jersey then yes I would. If not, and it was just a straight up player trade then no. When its all said and done I think Cam will retire with 2 SBs and 3-4 MVPs. An excellent career for sure, but Lebron has been dominant since he entered the league. The MJ+Lebron pairing would elevate Charlotte to the height of the sporting world for decades. 3 championships, 3 Finals MVPs, 4 MVPs, a scoring title, 2 All Star MVPs, 12 all Star appearances, 10 First team all NBA selections, 5 All NBA defensive selections, 2 Gold medals with the national team. That kind of career is absolutely legendary.

In the sense that the NFL dominates the top 10 of the Forbes list of most valuable sports franchises in the world.

1. Cowboys

6. Patriots

8. Redskins

9. Giants

10. 49ers/Lakers

The most valuable NBA team on the list doesn't show up until 10 and is ranked behind 4 NFL teams.

I wouldn't wish the Cleveland Browns on anyone, least of all Cam Newton... LOL

But seriously, no - there is no way in mother f**king hell I would ever do this trade and I won't even bother listing the reasons why it would be dumb - they should be obvious to anyone besides the biggest Hornets homers.
