Why do opposing fan bases and fans think the Panthers don't pay their players?

Packers have won 2 SB since free agency began. The 1996 team was loaded with free agent signings (Reggie White, Santana Dotson, Sean Jones, Gilbert Brown, Frank Winters, Keith Jackson, and more). The 2010 team anchored their defense with free agent signings (Charles Woodson, Ryan Pickett and Charlie Peprah).

The Steelers have also won 2 SB since free agency begun. They also made some major signings to cement their already playoff caliber team. They landed James Farrior, Kimo Von Oelhoffen, Jeff Hartings, Justin Hartwig, and Ryan Clark.

On top of that, they held on to their top tier key players in the secondary and at WR by signing them like Leroy Butler, Nick Collins, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones, Deshea Townsend, Ike Taylor, Troy Polamalu, and Hines Ward.

They paid for their championships. Every SB champion has paid for their championship since free agency started. Show me one team to win the SB since free agency began that did not pay big money to their home grown DBs/WRs and also pay out big contracts in free agency for key players. You need to do your research before making unsubstantiated false claims.

Your use of "pretty much never do this practice" sums it up. You know they do it, and you know they need to do it to get that Lombardi. Otherwise, they are just another playoff team.

The Panthers are not a draft first team since Gettleman has taken over. Five picks in the draft per season while trading away most of the draft for a player who will never be a #1 WR is not a draft first team. The Panthers rely on sub par free agents and udfas to fill a majority of the roster over the past few seasons. Stop putting them in with the Steelers, Packers, and Patriots who stock pile their draft picks for 9 to 10 per season. Also, none of those teams sign a ton of udfas and sub par free agents to secure their depth or starting roles.

The Panthers are a crutch team. They lean on players that have been around for a while, get rid of their key young players, and load up on cheap players to fill out the team. They are riding the talent that was here back in 2011 and 2012 while thinning it out. There is nothing substantial beyond them that would keep this team in the playoffs, and they continue to be surrounded by lesser talent every season.

Big name free agents like Justin Hartwig... that's pretty funny.

Had a feeling I could goad you into writing another wall of ignorant text. Didn't disappoint...

Here's a simple wager for you, Sparky. Let's see if you actually think you can back up your dumbass opinions.

If the Panthers win the division this year, you confess what team you really cheer for. We all know it's not the Panthers, so don't bother trying to sell us on that.

(I considered the terms of the bet to be making you confess that you don't actually have any inside sources, but that would be redundant because we all already know that)

Ball is in your court. I'm betting you'll chicken out or won't even bother to respond.
