Why do opposing fan bases and fans think the Panthers don't pay their players?

There are fans that consider every season without an SB win an abject failure devoid of anything positive or enjoyable.

We call those people "morons".

People who pull the "higher standards" thing want you to think they're a big deal. In truth, it's generally a sign that they're anything but.

They try to sound like someone who's a leader of men, but don't seem to realize that acting like this makes you sound more like a fat, dumbass Little League dad who screams at his kid from the stands for not hitting a home run everytime he bats.

for the most part, your average NFL fan is completely clueless as to the financials behind building a solid NFL team.  hard to blame them when there are plenty of GMs who don't seem to know poo either.  but yea, it's a lot more complex than just "oh, he's solid.  you should have paid him."

by default, teams that are good at developing players are going to have to let solid to great players walk.  that's a good thing.  it's all about how teams go about replacing the missing pieces that makes a good GM a great GM.  getts seems to have a knack for that.

Last season was the most fun I've ever had as a Panthers fan.

If someone couldn't enjoy that, I'd tell them to go find another team.

As enjoyable as the season was, watching the Super Bowl made it that much more difficult.

That poo was downright unbearable to watch.

Granted. I watched the 2003 game too and felt the same.

Doesn't take away all the great memories of last year though.

The difference between the two are night and day.  The 2003 game on all accounts was a Hell of a game.

The 2016 game on the other hand was a complete bed shitting by the offensive line, the receivers, coaches, etc.

It was downright unbearable to watch.

Some folks actually find a heartbreaking loss at the last minute to be more painful than a game where you just weren't even in it.

Me? I go back and forth.

Regardless, I'll never watch either game again.

Highlights from the NFC Championship and various other games though? Love em.

I was in Basic Training during the 2003 game, and that was a bed shitting by Kasey.  Not really heartbreaking when I think EVERYONE knew after that kickoff it was over.  While the whole game last season was just awful.  So, so, shitty.  All those ass kickings, and they poo the bed when it matters.  Sigh, so fuging frustrating.

You can't let it ruin the good times.

I've been an NFL fan for over 40 years. In that time, I've seen loads of games that didn't end the way I wanted them to but probably just as many that did. And through it all, I'm a bigger than now than I ever was.

You may not always get where you want to go, but don't let it stop you from enjoying the ride.

Yeah all these "questionable" decisions that have long term implications have led to a loaded SB team. At the time the short sighted instant gratification people couldnt comprehend what was comming but a few of us did. I was beating the Gettleman drum in the midst of the smitty fallout. Dude.. We are loaded right now, with our own home grown talent. Hey, lets be the redskins and overpay for other teams developments and barely have any of their home grown.

Yrah, heres what I say about the "should have done this" or "should have done that" statements..

I know that pic is photoshopped, but it's absolutely amazing. Saving it for posterity.

Oh, it stopped me from enjoying it that's for sure.  I loved every minute, but I have to keep watching highlights from prior games because that last game left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
