Official number tonight was 22,455. Last year's opening night was 17,700.

is that the number of fans that showed up for the training camp practice? if so 17k is a huge amount 22k is massive, when I used to live closer I used to go to the first day of training camp every year, warms my heart as a fan to hear about the turnouts now!

By and large, Broncos fans are pretty knowledgeable and level headed. They know they're in for a bit of a rebuilding period.

You mean the ones in Colorado. The ones online are just so happy to beat the Panthers forget winning that silly trophy.

Broncos have always had a fairweather fanbase.

Sorry man, they are far from fairweather. All my cousins on my mom's side are from Colorado and are Broncos fans, doesn't matter if they are 4 win team or SB contender they are jacked for every game. That city bleeds orange and blue, makes us look like chumps.

Yes, that's the number of fans who showed up for the first practice yesterday. Massive, as you said.

You'd think they would be chomping at the bit to see their team (for free) for the first time since they won the SB regardless of the QB situation?

So the huddle wasnt around in 04. Did everyone believe we would make it back like this year? Yes I know what happened in 04.

The huddle was around in 2004... It just had a different  name (Panthers Huddle).

We thought we'd be back. We didn't expect to lose Smitty, Davis, Foster, and Jenkins all in like the first month of the season.

It has entered my mind that I wish our camp had not become such a fan spectacle. The effectiveness or value of the camp isn't increased by fan interest.  I just hope nothing about the camp is actually altered for fan friendliness.

I doubt the coaches will let that happen.

Ron seems to be positive about the energy the fans bring to the guys.
