Mike Tolbert: I'll never play for anyone else

It's amazing what Ron and DG and JR have built here. Having high character guys like Mike, Jared Allen, Peanut, TD, Greg (I think he said it at some point) all saying that they won't play anywhere but here. Truly is an unmatched culture in this league and one that I believe will help us build a dynasty and be the first team since the undefeated Dolphins to win it all the year after losing the big one. Kurt as well, taking what I believe is less to stay here long term than trying to get a bigger pay day on the open market after this year similar to Mike Mitchell.

Obviously not all will have this mindset as some will be like Josh and take the most they can get (which is completely fine with me and all the respect to Josh and others for those decisions), but with DG drafting consistently well and guys wanting to stay apart of this culture I think we'll have a solid supply of talented players on contracts that are less than market value. Especially helps to have Luke and Cam locked up, the best players on each side of the ball in the entire league.

Of course nothing is a given in this league and I'm not taking last year for granted but from my perspective as a fan I don't really see any way we aren't competing for Super Bowls annually in the foreseeable future. Hopefully we can have the luck to win not just one but a couple or more in the time that we have Cam and Luke and DG and Ron in place.

IMO we are going to go be the New Patriots of the football. We have the GM the coaches and a better balanced core played to sustain success for a long period.

It it starts with one play, one win , one season , one championship!

Patriots?  May be comparable as to wins and championships in our future but I think this organization is building something bigger. Being a Panther means more. I think JR+Gettleman+Rivera are the perfect combo to build a culture never seen before.  Not only as fans can we have pride in the performance of this team, but we can be very proud of these players as people. Not just 1 or 2 of the players, but the whole damn team.  It is a requirement to become a Panther.

I an very proud to be a Panther fan. (And I have been one from the beginning)

    • Agreed on the last part. They can’t afford to lose all these games with Martin and Perets.
    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
    • People here get mad when I tell them I prefer Miracle Whip over Dukes
