Long shot, but if he can actually block that would go a long way. He probably has a better chance at taking one of the TE spots in a Brockel-type role if he's good enough.

I wouldn't expect Johnson to take the job from Tolbert this season.  Possibly if there's an injury at some point, or Tolbert just completely falls off the map sometime during the season.  Next year though, with a full season/off-season to grow from, he could definitely do it.  That's all assuming he's any good, which we don't know yet.

Tolbert is so unique, nobody else can do his job better. We definitely could add a dedicated blocker though.

I think the Ricky Brockel position and backup for Tolbert is more of an option than beating out Tolbert.

Johnson will wind up on the PE and take Tolberts place in a year or two.  With that being said, no one would be happier than me if it happened this year, since I still hate Tolberts whiffs and fumbles.

I think he should have a chance to supplant Tolbert......I was not enamored with Tolbert's play last year.  Of course, I can't get that SuperBowl fumble out of my head, but even before that....I didn't think he was overly effective.
