610 has a new home

For those that have never been able to listen to 610 The Fan, they now have a new home on 102.5 FM.  They are still on 610 AM too.  Just thought I'd share for those that may not have been able to get 610 AM.  You might have a chance to listen now.

I can't pick up either in Hickory, but I listen online quite a bit.

They also cut commercial breaks/hr from three to two (unless I heard something really incorrectly).

If I'm not mistaken about that then it's a pretty good quality of life change for us.  Even if the total advertising time stays the same split up into fewer total breaks it will probably feel less annoying.

I heard the same thing.  I've noticed that they play clips from past shows or some mash-ups where a commercial would have been previously.

6am - 10am is the Mac Attack.

He gets on some people's nerves but I think he's one of the more entertaining shows in their lineup (assuming you're not one of those people who insists that sports radio be 100% sports 100% of the time and that everything needs to be serious...they're pretty silly sometimes).  I listen most mornings when I'm driving to work

Cool I like some comedy in the mornings, typically listen to 107.5 Jared and katey but I miss satellite radio for sports talk... a mix should be cool

It definitely gets stale during the summer months, but the fall is prime listening.  They're pretty much always talking about the Panthers during the season.  Then, during the NBA season, they're constantly talking about the Hornets and the NBA.  These two sports definitely take up most of the shows.  You have to ignore the callers; they get a lot of cowboy, steelers, etc. fans calling in and even some of the Panther fans can be morons.  Most of the hosts are actual fans of other teams, but they do a good job of just focusing on the Panthers.  I used to commute a good while and this was all I listened to both ways.  I'm actually a little upset that my commute isn't as long anymore....the sacrifices I have to make :)

When I had xm I loved my commute for that very reason, all Sports all the time and no bs music that I can't stand...I'm gonna try this out and see if I like it before purchasing xm in my truck

OK so i turned to 102.5FM and just get a bunch of music... is it a certian time of the day? as i tend to listen via my phone and bluetooth...

It's still on for me.  Where are you located?  I tried finding a map to see how far the station extends, but I didn't have any luck.
