Redskins discussing bringing in Hardy

Playing DE in this league is hard (pun not intended).  There's a reason the premium and value is so high.  With this defense at age 28 there's no sane reason he wouldn't equal or surpass his All-Pro production the last time the league actually let him play the whole year.  But, worst case, even nearly decapitating Brady, intercepting Wilson, having 32 pressures, allowing a teammate to have a career high in sacks, and adding 6 sacks of his own in 12 games would be nice for this team.

To have such glowing "raw" remarks during Super Bowl week itself, I'll just refer to TD and CJ among others again on the other stuff http://nypost.com/2016/02/03/panthers-paint-rosy-picture-of-accused-abuser-greg-hardy/

Oh well.

....and it has been good.  Past 2 seasons, we have 2 NFCS Titles,  post season wins each season, 1 NFC Title.  Basically, the last 2 seasons...is the best back to back stretch in our franchises history.

A friend commenting on Hardy doesn't mean much.  I know he has friends.  89 had friends when we cut him too....doesn't mean he should of still been here.  Gotta move on.

So have the Warriors.  Even better than us in fact.  Didn't stop them from signing Kevin Durant.

I've even said, repeatedly, that I know it's unlikely to happen and that I even understand not wanting to deal with the backlash, because it would be annoying for anyone, even if rightfully telling all to stick it where the sun don't shine would feel oh so good.

problem in your analogy is equating Durant and Hardy.   They don't equate.  I'm sure if we could snag the equivalent of Durant we would too.

Stephen Curry then?  Same age and both made 2nd team all league for the first time in 2013-2014.

Legally?  Cameron Artis-Payne, A1 Misdemeanor charge, unfortunately his was in the presence of the law, not a he-said, coke-head-said.

no...bringing in Curry or Durant to your team wouldn't be comparable move as a bringing in Greg Hardy.

and no a team bringing in CAP isn't comparable

is this real life?

Real as placing the tag on him after everything in 2010-2013 and cheering for him in August and September 2014.

I don't get what you are saying.  Did you get stuck in some space time warp where you are still back in early 2014?

Unfortunately the league hasn't let him play a full season since.  He's had 7 sacks in 13 games since, far better than the highest paid DE in football.

ok, last cherry pick only the last 13 games someone has played

in Kony Ealy's last 13 games played....he had 8 sacks. That is production better than both your guys mentioned.

OK, go back more than that then.  26 sacks the two years prior.

Ealy is a stud.  Will he have double digit sacks in his 3rd year like Greg Hardy Jr did in his?  I hope he does.  Wouldn't bet on it or against it, but I hope he does.

wait, you have used that "7 sacks in 13 games, which is far more than the highest paid DE" line 7,457 times I think as a reason to sign Hardy.   Why do we need to go back simply because I pointed out Ealy has more sacks than that in his last 13 games played??

I don't want to go back that far.  I mean, Jared Allen was a beast back then.  Go back one more year and Allen had 22 sacks in a season.   Too far back.

Let's stay with last year.

I don't care what any NFL player did 3 and 4 seasons ago

Ealy had the benefit of playing on a far better line overall, and you can never have too many good pass rushers.  Hardy Jr would complement, not replace, Ealy.  I've never bashed Delaire, Cox, Miley, or even Horton (who has also missed games per NFL rules too) as situational role players, but they're not in the stratosphere of Greg Hardy Jr as football players and that's not debatable.  CJ may set the world on fire this year but no sane person is betting a paycheck, much less their house, on that. Even GMan said he "may" be a starter.  I want at DE what we have at DT.  I want the best front 7 ever.  I want the best team ever.  JR, so far, appears to be content with what we have to avoid the backlash.  And that should be enough.  I want more.

ok, let's say a team picks up Hardy.....what do you place his odds at in terms of having a comparable season to last year (I'm talking nonsense and disruption).

Give me a percentage.

It isn't about backlash for that allegation at this point.  Again, this is the NFL.  All is forgiven in the NFL if you can play.

Hardy in Dallas is what is hurting Hardy today.   No team wants the Dallas Hardy.  Dallas Hardy should of had 7 sacks in 13 games and nothing more.  But he was more.   Now he isn't just a dude who made a mistake.   Now he is a headache.

0%

There is no bigger feeding frenzy, good and bad, than Dallas.  Hardy Jr himself stated that the bright lights of the Cowboys and Big D were far more than he imagined and there was indeed a huge difference from CLT.  He was only 27.  The Cowboys do have brighter lights than all other teams and the media is enough to drive even a sane man insane.  Hardy Jr did not do or say anything more controversial than thousands of other players, coaches, and world leaders at the highest level haven't throughout history.

PS-Adam Schefter even said he wasn't the monster he was expecting until ESPN put the muzzle on him.
