It's really shitty. But not much they can do about it unfortunately. They knew it as going to happen. But ultimately the pros of doing it this way greatly outweighed the cons.

wonderful. I've waited my whole life to go to these events. Next year I'm gonna be there and for the next 10 years I will get to deal  with this bs when back in 2010 I would've done anything to go and it wouldn't of cost me a damn thing.
