This thread is pathetic.

....Yeah, I'm worried about stopping their running game and covering Witten, but Manning picked their defense apart. They're not invulnerable.

Yeah.... MANNING picked their defense apart. Do you honestly think Jake is going to do the same thing?

To be honest, I believe Coach Fox has done that. He feels too comfortable in his job and believes that, that one Superbowl, 6 years ago has given him job security for life. So, no change just the same boring poo week after week.

You're absolutely stark-raving mad if you think anyone in professional sports is ever complacent. There's no such thing as job security in the NFL. Enter Schottenheimer's firing after a 12-4 season.

Thanks for giving up.

Who gave up? Is that guy a player on the team? We do not pass the "eye test" and it's not even close. We are not near the level that the two teams played tonight are. I think we are capable, but the strings are way too tight, on Jake, Jeff and Meeks, I do believe. We are too nonchalant it appears, no urgency and no fire. It will take for our season to be all but over before we unleash our potency. Don't believe me, I may have been one out of a hundred who never busted on Trgo. And look and Dan Henning, put in a situation he can do what he wants there in Miami, and with far less talent on offense last year, they did quite well. It wasnt til week 16 in 06 when we started getting creative... yea Henning created the now popular Wildcat, and Atlanta could not stop it.

It is not hard to see what teams are good, what teams are strong just by watching, and we are not even close to being there yet. We have what Fox wants, a strong run game and a game-manager QB, a bend-but-dont break defense, true we have not been beaten deep yet. But they still get in the end zone at will, it was too easy for Matt Ryan today. They knew exactly what our defense was gonna do every play. We look like we did last year, no difference.

Why were all our players, the past two seasons, so excited to be simplifying the defense? I get it, don't think just react, but come on, we are soft and our one blitz is terrible. No disguises, nothing to try and confuse a QB or any of the lineman. Gamble was lined up 8 yards at least off of White, played behind the goal line the entire play, and never had a chance defending the ball. It was just too easy, what I saw tonight will absolutely thrash us. Eli played spectacular, I don't see Jake stepping up in the pocket like that, buying time, threading the needle. Thats what you need to beat that defense with Ware coming off the end, Gross did decent today but I see a tough matchup for him next Monday. I look forward to watching but it looks so difficult for our team to do anything, while other teams do average things like clockwork. What do we do in practices?
