Baltimore Beach Volleyball men’s and women’s two-on-two league players, who take to the courts on Monday nights at Rash Field in the Inner Harbor, experienced a surprise at about 830pm last night. Reigning NFL MVP Cam Newton and some of his Carolina Panthers teammates – including quarterback Joe Webb; wide receivers Damiere Byrd, Avius Capers, Tedd Ginn Jr., Stephen Hill, Tobais Palmer, and Miles Shuler; and, tight ends Braxton Deaver, Scott Simonson, and Beau Sandland – stopped by the popular volleyball destination.

The NFL players, led by Cam Newton, asked if they could participate and get in a couple games of four-on-four with players from Baltimore Beach’s Men’s 2A League. Many onlookers and fellow league participants gathered to watch, and big smiles and laughs were on the faces of the Panthers players as they played and ribbed their teammates.

The NFL players posed for pictures during and after about an hour of play. According to one of the players, they were in town to work out at the Under Armour facilities.
