Two Pricing Tiers this year

Not if you've already sold some at what you thought was face...

I don't know the arrangement, but technically you didn't give a fixed price.  It was more of a wait-and-pay-what-I-get-billed and add on my % markup.  That's how I see it.  Hope you get it all sorted.

No. As every other season, I divided the total invoice price by 10. Told them that price and they paid me. We've NEVER had variable prices. And they knew way before now that they were doing this but didn't tell. So I'm pissed.

It isn't accounting for them. It's making us "think" that preseason are cheaper and when we have to sell them way below face, we don't feel like we're getting AS screwed.

I paid for mine a while back, not even sure where my invoice is.  I'll look a little closer next year.

I just logged on to my PSL account and looked at invoice history. It gives you the total amount paid going back years. By the way my grand total increased over $200 from last season for 531 low row seats.

Well either get busy getting over it, or get busy doing something about it.

And no, the Panthers aren't trying to trick anybody.  You're just salty.

It will be a good thing moving forward because the face value of the tickets that actually have a resale value will be higher. I hope this is the only surprise. Some teams have a different face value for regular season games based on who the opponent is. They designate high demand games as premium and charge more for them. Arizona would be an example of such a game on our schedule. I hope we don't get into that.

Nothing I can do about it. Tickets sold. It isn't right to change the pricing structure after invoices have been sent  and / or paid.

I didn't know this was the case in football but have seen this down here with the Marlins and FL Panthers.

Falcons do this. Our game this year is $35 more than it was last year and one of two opponents they have in this category.

Got an email for PSL Owners this morning from Danny Morrison. In it, he states that there will be two Pricing Tiers this year - one for Preseason and one for Regular Season but the overall price is the same as what was sent out in the invoices.

While this is nice that Preseason are "technically" less expensive, I think they should have told us upfront about this and what the breakdown of the pricing is so those of us selling tickets would be able to determine how much to sell them for. For example, I based my asking price on $xxxx/10 and sold three games using that price and now I find that the face value is more. And still don't know what the actual face value is.

What about people who purchased when they went on-sale to the public? Did they pay "old" prices or "new"?

Here's the email excerpt...

  • Ticket Pricing : As a result of annual fan surveys, a new pricing structure has been adopted to better reflect the market value of preseason games compared to regular season games. While the total cost will be the same as we shared with you earlier this year, when you receive your season tickets you will notice two-tiered pricing that reflects lower prices on preseason tickets and higher prices for regular season games.

Edit update:  Here's what I put together based on available non-resale ticket prices

Panthers Season Tix.docx

Personally, those who bought the tickets should compensate.  That's not going to happen.  Maybe the loss will be offset by future buyers.  I know it's hard for you to get to every game while living away.  I know you only offer to Panther fans.  I know I've appreciated getting tickets from you.

As previously mentioned ... if you are selling to friends, it should be an easy fix.  Tell them ticket prices went up and to fork over the extra cash.  Seriously ... shouldn't be a problem.  Big picture ... nothing changes.  PSL owners are still paying the same amount and after-market prices, especially for preseason games, will not be impacted by a small change to prices.  Only impacts those buying retail for individual games.

Problem solved.

This actually stinks.  I got my tickets today and see how they break it out between pre season and regular season.  I have two seats and every season we buy extra tickets for regular season games from the other PSL owners around us so my whole family can go.  So great, now that regular season are worth more it's gonna cost me more money when we buy any extra's.  Plus this also helps all those scalpers outside the stadium, making it even more expensive for fans trying to get in.

Oh... and I just realized, if other teams are doing this... they just cost me more money for my road trips.
