Two Pricing Tiers this year

@SCP and any other PSL owners look at your invoice versus the attached file in the OP and see if there's a discrepancy?

My invoice is for $2793.97 for two tickets. However, if I do the math based on the TM face values, it should be $2620 ($1170 reg season + $140 preseaon * 2). Where does that $173.97 difference come in?

@bleedsgreenandgold- it may be a few dollars over those 8 games but it can add up. As someone who cannot make all the games, then I want to get at least face value back.

I understand but that should be pretty easy to do this year. If you are selling to friends and they are unwilling to give you at least face value, you probably need new friends.

@CosmoGirl  I have the same invoice price as you do. On the invoice, though, they added a $5 handling fee & $188.97 NC sales tax, a total of $193.97 additional. The $20 difference is that the invoice says $2600 for 2 tix, the TM face value adds up to $2620. So they have the ticket values wrong?

EDIT: To get it to $1300 per ticket, the reg season tix should be $145, not $146.25.

@GRWatcher - thank you! I didn't have the original invoice and it doesn't give the breakdown online. I just attempted to "order" in that price on TM and found that it's $11.55 per ticket in sales tax. I'd forgotten that they started adding on sales tax last year.

@bleedsgreenandgold - If I'd have told them that was the price of the tickets, then that's what they would have paid. I told them $140 each (which they've already paid me) and it will actually come out to $157.80. That's $35.60/game * 3 games = $106.80. I'm not exactly fond of just giving away over $100.

@GRWatcher - I think they're doing some funny math!

$146.25 is what they have on the TM site. The Saints game is the only one with a seat in that price level. When I went to check out, it added the $11.55 tax.  Maybe we get a slight "discount" per ticket since we're PSL owners. :)

When I went and added the $70.00 preseason ticket, the tax on it was $5.59.

So their funny math would be ((11.55 * 8) + (5.59 *2) * 2) = $207.16.

BTW - that's 7.9% tax. Ouch.

The sales tax on the invoice was 7.25%. That's the difference! NC or Charlotte or Mecklenburg county must've raised the sales tax. Good sleuthing, Sherlock!!

Ahh - I read the article from last season. It is 7.25%.  The difference for tax on the TM site is that it is after service charge of $13.00.

Now I'm satisfied with the math part.

But still annoyed that they waited until now to tell us this.

And what about the people who bought single-game tickets? Did they get new or old pricing? If they got new pricing, then they could have let PSL owners know back then.

I can't stop laughing about this for some reason. I mean it all makes sense, but it doesn't.

They raised the regular season prices and lowered the preseason prices so it all evens out?

Is this good PR, or the Panthers Social Media department feeding Mister Morrison his lines?

Thanks Danny!

When I first got the e-mail, I thought well this is cool. Upon further reflection it will cause me a slight disadvantage as I prefer to sell the preseason tickets. Now that they have a lower face value I won't be able to recoup as much out of them as I had previously hoped.

Curious to see how how non psl owners react to this news. I would assume its not welcome news as most likely did not care about attending preseason games but do want to attend some regular season games. Now their cost to go to the meaningful game's just went up.

The overall cost is the same. Personally I always felt a little guilty asking a friend to pay face value for a preseason game. You can pick one up for next to nothing on the street.

Just yesterday I sold a friend a 3 game package of Pittsburgh Tampa and New Orleans. I charged him my invoice total divided by 10 for each game. That's basically what I paid. He will probably think I am ripping him off on the preseason game now. It all comes out in the wash.

I paid for mine a while back, not even sure where my invoice is.  I'll look a little closer next year.

That was my initial thought. Do they think we're dumb?

Apparently. Because they told us that our ticket prices were going up between $2-$5 per game. This makes a big difference. Yes, I know it's still the same out-of-pocket for us for the season but it also makes a big difference per game when we sell, or even take a friend with us.
