This is crazy!!...Smith has not lost anything , he is still a threat out there. It's goof ball INT throwing Jake .. Come on..if your QB keeps making poor passes you will not win any game...like overthrown passes, underthrown passes..passes when coverage is thick on you !!..come on!..Hell Jake would make Fitz, T.O. , Moss and any other reciever look like he has lost something. This is crazy...The other teams know how to beat us... Rush Jake the INT will follow...Jake will throw a goof ball pass when this happens and hopes that one of his players can bail his sorry butt out!!.. Look at those Stats !!...

It's become painfully obvious that many have stubbornly picked their scapegoat.

Remember when smith showed up to camp chubby last year? It took him almost half the year to get back down to his old weight and up to any pro-bowl level performance.

The slow decline is in progress. It was visible last year if you were paying attention and it's become obvious this year. The question is, how much more will his abilities decline in the next year? And after that?

Our next QB won't trust him nearly as much as Jake does, this much is for certain.

Dwayne Bowe showed up to camp chubby as well, I suppose he's on the decline too. maybe if you played a game of football for once in your life, you'd realize how hard it is to have the upper hand as a WR in a 4th and 15 situation with the defense pretty much knowing what route you're going to run. Watch the play again, and know what you're talking about before spouting this rubbish.

I dont know about overall ability going down, but once upon a time Smitty wouldve wrestled Houston for that ball and came away with it. Regardless of Jakes bad throw. But if Dwayne Jarrett was 10 inches closer to the ball on that final play, we'd probably not be talking about any of this.

This thread is retarded and the people who actually has the same belief as the TS need to get their heads examined. How can u blame Smith when Delhomme throw was late? That was an easy int for Houston. If Smith was playing with an elite QB can you imagine the numbers who would be putting up? You wanna know why Steve Smith dosen't seem as dominant as he used to be, TS? Maybe it's because we don't have a #2 WR to take the pressure off of 89.

Yeah, because if we had more good receivers, Smitty wouldn't be...

...single covered.

Oh.

Oh.

Are you related to Delhomme? Do you have a man crush oh him? Because their is no way you really believe what you're saying. You're sounding pretty ignorant trying to bash Smith.

    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
    • And every nfl player wannabe tries to up their draft position through things like the combine and theyre all basically lying though those drills theyve practiced hundreds of times that have little bearing on if theyre a good football player. The pro days are even worse. All you have to do is dupe 1 team. Is it right? No. But until teams put more emphasis on college tape vs. What they did in shorts with no defense it'll happen every year. I doubt there is a single player that wouldn't try anything to up their draft prospects.  Young had years of tape and that shouldve been what the decision was based on. Not a scale and throwing in shorts.  ( btw I think the combine and pro days are 90% a waste of time) Young has it financially made already. It's up to him if he wants to be a good football player too. I think the benching was the best thing that could've happened to him. It remains to be seen if it was enough
