It's become painfully obvious that Steve Smith...

Smith is still a very very good WR, he just can't carry the entire passing game like he has been for the past few years. Yeah he's dropped off a bit but it's a drop off from being superman to simply an all-pro. Jake's throws either sail on him or come too late and without enough zip.

Basically, Smith has become human.

this board is nuts!!! now they are getting on smitty!! he is probably the greatest offensive panther ever! When people think of the panthers offense it is running the ball and steve smith.

i wouldnt care if smith was lazy for one whole game. as much superman acts and tight rope walking and him some years being our WHOLE offense, he has a huge pass from me. he has bailed jake out of so many bad throws.

what is funny is that no one is blaming delhomme but they say smitty has lost it!!!! are you serious! he is not superman, we may have all got used to him being that but , even if he is slowing down jake is his problem. i mean seriously, do you really think his skills have just disappeared in one season or have jakes bad habits continued??

Why can everyone else on the team catch their passes except Smitty?
I only person that has a legitmate case of not dropping a large amount of passes has been Jeff King. Moose and Rosario have dropped plenty. Everyone else. . . I can't say if they can catch the ball regularly because they haven't been on the field period.

The touchdown by King was a perfect example of going and getting the ball instead of just watching it streak by or hit the ground in front of you.

It was also a nicely placed ball by Jake Delhomme. But we're supposed to be negative here, my bad.;)

Teams know that Smith get's frustrated when he get's man double coverage..any receiver would that's not a larry fitzgerald randy moss type that can just outjump double coverage..Smith has made those kind of plays in the past but the throws have to be right where he can go get it and there isn't much room for error-jake being one big error right now.

Smith's emotions are his biggest strength and weakness, and when you take him out early he tries to force it and his routes become more improvised like in the Dallas game and bad things happen..

Cmon now everyone on here knows that all Jake has to do is heave it up and Smith will go up and get it and make Jake look good. It has been all Smith for years.

Don't try and tell me that the throw has to be close or on target. We all know that Smith is the greatest player ever. We all know that everything is jake's fault and Smith is blameless. He makes no mistakes and his emotions are welcome.:D
