"PFF: Panthers worst secondary in NFL"

Well this is DG's 4th offseason. He's almost built a complete team. OL used to be crap, now it's a strength. Hopefully CB can make the same transformation and DG's job of building a complete team will be accomplished. He might've already done it if Norman didn't decide to leave. I just hope we don't stand pat with what we currently have going into week 1.

I don't think we are done with our offseason journeyman signings....I think we kick the tires on one to two more players before or during training camp

I would like to remind PFF that in 2013 we went 12-4 with a starting secondary unit featuring: Drayton Florence, Captain Munnerlyn, Robert Lester and Melvin White.

True but our d line was insane that year. We had almost 30 sacks from our d ends

The new secondary will be tested early and often by our opponents, hopefully they are up to the challenge.

It is good to know the Panthers have last year's #1 offense as well as KB coming back, we will need Cam and company firing on all cylinders, just in case the secondary takes time to gel.

Just cause a player is a rookie, and an unknown, doesn't make it a fair assessment.  That's bullshit fed to you by the writers themselves. If it was a fair assessment, then every rookie is gonna suck, regardless of the teams that picked them, and what round they were picked in.

I'm sorry, but the writers, need to stop being lazy. Our secondary isn't going to suck. I know you, and many others are fearful, but I've been watching pro football to long to buy into that crap.

Yes, we have unproven rookies that will be playing an important role on our defense. Every year we have rookies playing important roles. That's football. And I'd much rather be a team that has to rely upon it's proven front seven, than the other way around. These rookies will grow fast. I'm not worried.

The point I made about the writers being lazy is still true. I know how and why they write like that, but it doesn't make what they are saying credible, at all.

Saying that their July assessment isn't unreasonable doesn't mean anybody is blindly drinking their Kool-Aid.  On the contrary, ranking this group higher based upon mid-round rookie and journeymen potential would be homerish.  They aren't saying EVERY rookie sucks regardless of their teams and place in the draft.  They are simply stating that Bene, combined with mid-round draft picks and a few journeymen, is bottom in the league.  Not an unreasonable assessment in July.  If we drafted Ramsey, perhaps their assessment would be different.

We all hope the front 7 make it difficult and our DBs can hold their own.  We all hope that one (or more) of the rookies step-up and can contribute in September.  I've been watching football a long time too and until our group proves they are more than mid-round rookies and journeymen, they will be ranked at the bottom.  Lets hope they prove them wrong.

LOL ... that's the first step in the healing process.  :-)   If you're feeling real bad, remember that it could be worse ... we could live in Cleveland and be discussing the Browns.
